Lester returned home at the time of dusk when the sky was decorated in pretty shades of pink and purple. His mother ran to him as soon as she saw him walking in her way.
She hugged his son, closing her eyes.
"Oh Lester! Son! Where were you? We were looking for you everywhere. Do you know how worried I was?"
Lester pulled away to see his mother's frightened face and moistened eyes. Looking closely at her, he realised how the age had begun to show its signs on her face. In these past days, the lines on her face had grown by an inch, and her eyes looked tired.
His heart was saddened thinking about his parents. They were worried about him. They did everything in their capacity to talk to him and make him feel better.
Lester recalled the times he had told his parents to leave him alone and was rude and ignorant towards their efforts. How they had been hurt, he didn't want to imagine that.
He again hugged his mother and smiled, feeling fortunate to have such supportive parents.
