Releasing a shaky breath, Ida gave Kevin a tight nod before they both advanced forward carefully.
They were only a few feet away from the forest line when the soldier to their far left screamed in pain. Every head turned in his way to see a rogue right on him, yanking away the flesh from his left shoulder.
It all happened so suddenly that before any of them broke into action, another scream filled the air, and Kevin pulled Ida towards him protectively as Mr Welby's body went flying in the air above their heads only to crash land on the rough ground with a loud thud.
"Mr Welby!" Ida ran to the man to see him groaning in pain with a few cuts on his body.
But then Mr Welby's warning ringed in the air. "Kevin!"
A rogue jumped out of the forest and directly on Kevin and before they knew it, more of them emerged out of the forest, attacking from all sides.
Kevin understood Mr Welby's warning in time and managed to throw the rogue away from him. Mr Welby was quickly back on his feet.
