Ruth heard a knock on her door when she was reading a book.
"Come in." She called.
She expected Laila, instead, the person who entered her chamber, made her shoot up from her place.
"Mr Davies?! What are you doing here?"
Harold placed his finger on his lips, telling Ruth to be quiet. Ruth was alarmed at his unexpected and unannounced appearance in her chamber.
"Mr Davies, though Edwin has forgiven you it doesn't mean you can come in my chamber!" Ruth hissed, glaring at the man.
"Luna, I wouldn't have come here if it wasn't urgent."
"But Mr Davies-"
"Do you have any other place in your mind where it is safe to talk?"
Ruth thought about it for a moment then said, "Come with me."
She peeked out of the door to make sure nobody watched them. She took Harold into Mrs Payne's room.
"You can tell that you came here to visit her if someone asks."
"But she is not here."
"I know. That is why we are here. Laila has taken her to the physician for routine checkup. Now speak."
