The days passed, and yet there was no progress in the case of kidnapping in Vincardine. With every passing day, Edwin's restlessness kept growing, bubbling, ready to erupt like a volcano at any moment.
Everyone was tensed around him. The only good news for Ruth was that Edwin finally met Harold and accepted his apology for everything he had done. Though Edwin made it clear to her that he was still not ready to trust him wholeheartedly, she didn't expect him to do so too!
Lester was with Mrs Payne, now back to his normal self, but the memories and the pain he went through recently were still fresh in his mind.
"How do you feel now, Lord Lester?" Mrs Payne asked with genuine concern.
