Edwin reminisced his childhood with Theodora after Ruth told how she scared Laila. He was angry at Theodora too! But he also knew that there was no point in talking with her, so he needed to invest his efforts where they would be fruitful.
"Do you know I once scolded your brother Henry for something he didn't do? I misjudged him and insulted him in front of everyone. I was too harsh. He was also young back then just like you."
Both Laila and Ruth listened to him carefully.
"He also cried and was scared of me. He kept avoiding me for days later on. But soon he realised that hiding from your fear is not going to help you at all. One day you must face it, fight it if you want to move ahead in life."
"So... did he?" She asked slowly.
Edwin smiled, nodding his head. "He did! One day, he came to me and told me that it was not his mistake and that I misjudged him. He didn't want my apology, he just wanted to tell me it on my face so there would be no misunderstanding between us.
