Theodora reached to Douglas as she couldn't stay in 'the great manor' with Ruth and Edwin around. She needed some space to think, and his company was the only solution she had.
She complained to him about Ruth and Edwin, but Douglas had already predicted the future a long time ago.
"No need to rub salt on my wound Douglas!" Theodora seethed.
Douglas raised his hands in surrender, not intending to anger her more. "So what your dear nephew and his mate has done now?" He then asked in genuine concern.
Theodora sighed. She contemplated telling Douglas about it, but then he had never betrayed her and would not dare to even if he wanted to. So there was no harm in telling him.
"Douglas, Augustus has messed up everything this time and Edwin has found out about it. Now he is demanding for Agustus to confess it and face a trial. Can you believe that?"
Now more interested than before, Douglas asked, "What has Lord Augustus done?"
