The O'Dell family was joined by the Longhursts for the inauguration of the marathon. Ruth could feel the readiness of every participant. In that stimulating air, she felt a great adrenaline rush as if she was also one of those participants.
Rees stepped ahead to announce the course of the marathon and the rules that every participant needed to follow.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I, Rees Welby welcome every one of you for this annual affair on the behalf of the O'Dell family. We are about to begin the marathon but first, you need to know some important things."
People listened carefully in silence as Rees's voice boomed around the place.
"This is going to be about thirteen miles long marathons. The race is going to start from this point and will end here only, but the course of the track is quite challenging.
