Theodora lay leisurely in a recliner as Fannie sat at her feet, massaging her feet with some fragrant oils. Lately, Theodora had so much going on in her head. Everything she had gathered in her control was now slipping from her grip. And she hated it!
And to add to her misery, her parents were here and had no plan to leave anytime soon. But why were they here? It was not like they suddenly had an urge to see their daughter in all these years. Then why?
Her brows knitted in confusion upon realising that Fannie had stopped massaging her feet. She lifted her head up to look at the maid who sat at her feet.
"Fannie? Fannie?"
Fannie was so lost in her thoughts that she failed to hear her mistress's calls. Angry, Theodora nudged her with her leg. Fannie looked startled.
"M-my Lady?"
"You look lost Fannie. What happened?" Theodora asked, narrowing her eyes.
Fanie shifted uncomfortably. She was anxious for very obvious reasons, but Theodora had no idea about it.
