As soon as the carriage stopped in 'the great manor', Ruth jumped out of it and stormed to her home. Rees heaved a sigh of relief because sitting in that enclosed space with two infuriated people was suffocating.
When Rees saw her stomping away from there, he thought Edwin would stop her, but he did not. He just stared at her back with narrowed eyes. Rees knew he was still angry. However, Rees was also relieved that Ruth handled the situation well.
She forgave Mr Cooper as soon as he agreed with hiking the employees' pay. Although Rees wanted Ruth to punish him, he also understood why she did that.
It would not take much time for the news to reach Lord Augustus. Rees sighed, watching Edwin walk away in silence.
Perhaps he should have a talk with Ruth and about Edwin... he needed to find Lester as soon as possible.
Ruth was so infuriated that a weird feeling of smashing something overpowered her. She needed a cold shower to cool off, or else she was not sure what she would do.
