Ruth did not understand when Rees came to see her in her room in the servants' quarter. Ida was also surprised to see him as he walked in, along with Thea.
"Rees?" Ida stood up from the bed. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be taking Henry's body to"
Rees nodded. "Yes, I am going there but I have one more task to do before that," he said, confusing all three women.
Here the guards had taken the coffin to the same place where the rituals of Rees and Thea's mating and bonding were performed.
The only difference was this time, the pack of Vincardine was not gathered in that cave-like place. Instead, they had gathered in an open place well hidden on the other side of those humongous megaliths.
It was a place where the Alpha that is the leader, usually addressed his people. That was the place where gatherings such as this one happened. That place had many good as well as bad memories for the people.
