One day Edwin was working in his office. He was sitting in his chair behind his desk. His morning began with a sweet kiss by his mate when she came to his chamber in search of Thea.
Ruth was doing good in her studies and was learning new things every day. His uncle and aunt were quiet for a while, and his house had never felt so peaceful before.
Edwin was in a great mood, credit to that peacefulness.
An hour into his work, he was so lost in it that he did not hear the multiple knocks on his door.
~"Master... Master... please open the door."~
Someone reached him through the mindlink when he did not respond to their knocks. Edwin was startled at that sudden interruption.
Coming back to reality, he finally heard another knock and sighed. He should really work on how to be attentive while engaged in work.He cleared his throat before commanding, "come in."
The door was opened by one of his guards and the man stepped in.
