One day after finishing the lesson, Ruth recalled she forgot the notes, Miss Chang had given her during the lesson. She particularly told Ruth to read them tonight, and then they would have a discussion on it the next day.
Elsie already had a good grasp on that subject and thus had nothing to worry about or revise. She offered Ruth help, but Ruth wanted to do it on her own. She wanted to learn things on her own.
"Mrs Payne, I forgot the notes Miss Chang had given me to prepare in the old building. It is necessary to read them before the morning. I will get them, but please go to sleep.
Your knees are hurting so much. I wonder why though. Did you go out walking long distances?" Ruth asked, eyeing the old woman.
Now, how could Mrs Payne tell her that she indeed had to walk to the market and then to the woods to attend the secret meeting with Lester and Edwin?
"Do not think much about it dear. Your aunt is just getting older." Mrs Payne said while slipping in her mattress.
