Mrs Payne came out of the bathroom after taking a bath. She combed her white curls and checked herself in the mirror one more time.
Her gaze went to the table, and a small frown appeared on her face.
"Laila? Laila?" She called the young girl.
Laila came running into the room, and asked, "Yes, Mrs Payne?"
"Laila, you are doing it purposefully, aren't you?" Mrs Payne glared at her.
Laila crossed her hands behind her back, smiling innocently. "I don't understand what you are talking about, Mrs Payne."
Mrs Payne's frown deepened as she walked to the young girl. Pinching her ear, she scolded her.
"Are you trying to play games with me, young lady? How many times I have told you to have breakfast with me? Your grandfather was complaining the other day that you are not eating well these days.
What is your problem? You should eat properly, Laila. You are growing fast, and your body needs good nutrition. Why you don't listen to me?"
