Ruth listened to Mrs Payne muttering something angrily. "If you knew that Zoe is in the Bluemoon pack then what you would have done?" She asked out of curiosity. Besides, she felt refreshed to live these little normal things that she had missed all this time.
"Oh, I would have gone there myself and dragged her back to Vincardine for Lord Edwin to decide about her after he returns."
The way Mrs Payne rolled her eyes and rubbed her wrist in the display of power made the three girls burst out laughing. She blinked, not understanding what happened but then ignored them, still muttering something incoherently.
Their laughter paused when Rees burst through the door, his eyes opened wide and moistened. Elsie instantly jumped out of his way before he crashed into her and cleared some space for him to sit on the bed beside Ruth.
