Everyone waited outside the room where the physician treated Mrs Payne's wounds. Rees asked Edwin to come aside as he couldn't hold back what he had on his mind.
"What?" Edwin was not in a mood to talk.
"Master, the glass bottle we have found near Mrs Payne... it contained some kind of medicine. What if... if it was Lord Lester's medicine?"
Edwin had thought about it too.
"Hmm... I think it must be that." He agreed.
"But..." Rees didn't understand how should he say it or was it the right time to bring up that topic, but Edwin understood his hesitance.
He patted his arm and said, "I am sure she must have stored more of it somewhere. Don't worry about Lester. He is a strong man. Once Mrs Payne opens her eyes, it is going to be the first thing she would speak." Edwin was sure of that.
Rees relaxed after hearing that, but he prayed for Mrs Payne too.
