Edwin poured all his love in that one kiss, adamant about dragging Ruth out of her state as she remained in his arms with closed eyes. And it worked! He felt her body slowly relaxing against him. The temperature of her body gradually fell to normal.
And when he parted away, breaking their kiss, he saw her eyes fluttering before she opened them wide.
"E-Edwin?"
The moment her voice fell on his ears, he found his heart skipping a beat. Edwin pulled her close to his chest and hugged her tightly.
"Wh-what happened?" She asked, still trying to get hold of the situation.
Edwin pulled away and moved her hair from her face. "You don't remember?" He asked in confusion with a breathy voice.
Ruth shook her head before straightening up. When she noticed his face clearly, her eyes widened in concern.
"Edwin are you alright? Were you... scared or crying? Why do you look like you have just seen a ghost?" She asked, tilting her head.
Edwin gawked at her unbelievingly.
