Thea was massaging Rees's hand as he sat in the bathtub, which was filled with cold water. He suddenly grabbed her wrist and stared into her eyes. Caught off guard, Thea looked up at him.
"Do you still love me?"
Thea gulped down, staring at him. She nodded her head. "I do... I just... don't think I am enough for you."
Her words stabbed him painfully. Rees closed his eyes momentarily, taking a sharp intake of breath. He cursed himself for putting them in that position where she was in self-doubt. If only he had been a bit more sensitive and considerate!
"And what if I tell you how much I need you and want you?"
The way his eyes swirled with emotions, Thea could only sit there stunned.
But then she gathered herself. It was happening again they were again going back and forth. And she did not want that. He would always say something like that, and once they began getting closer, he just... stopped. And it was frustrating!
