Ruth was still upset with Edwin and his possessiveness after the incident with Mr Cooper. He did not try to justify his actions or apologise because he thought what he did was something he should have done a long time before.
Ruth noticed how Mrs Payne and her friends were absent in 'the great manor' on more than one occasion. She tried asking them about it, but they always avoided answering her.
Today, Ruth was busy all day in the training, and now that everybody knew who she was, there was no need to be as cautious as every other day.
By the time of the evening, Ruth was drained out of the energy. For some reason, she thought Mr Welby was more brutal with her than before. Perhaps he wanted her to boost the rate of her learning process.
But someone needed to remind him that she was just a human after all!
Surprisingly Elsie was feeling under the weather today and thus had not attended the training session leaving Ruth alone to bore it all.
