Chapter 21 - Resolve

The exact details were unknown. Perhaps due to unlawful interference, no evidence was ever officially entered into court records. Jerald Outre was never officially arrested. Unofficially, Cornelius read through a timeline of events, took statements and testimonies from involved individuals, and determined that it was sufficient enough for a verdict.

The victim herself, understandably, did not want to be involved with her former mentor any longer, and her only contribution was a testimony of what had happened to her. Travis Vorn and Lilian Rosemary also gave statements, and Travis' was particularly damning.

Whether it was Cornelius' influence or the nature of the crime, Travis did not know nor did he care. Jerald was imprisoned, for a grand total of nine cycles. The Guild Master of the Evaidas Guild Branch watched the waters, and when no waves were in sight, he settled into his office, back into a routine.

His predecessor left a lot of points to improve. Points that Travis had to work hard to overturn. He was a man of equality. Whether one was from the lower classes, whether you had a low-educational background, whether you were born and raised in the suburbs, whether you were a man or a woman, whether you were a human or a ragalk. It mattered not to him, but it had mattered to Jimmy Porak.

Travis was, even now, working to create a fair and equal workplace. Far too many women, elves and non-wealthy individuals were dismissed for what they had no control over rather than what they did. The Triparte Guilds' rapid expansion into efficiency, scale and effectiveness after Travis took office was no accident.

Travis would continue to work hard to create a fairer workplace, a more efficient, expansive and effective Triparte Guilds. His would be an organisation that would rival the military might of the Triparte Legions, farther-reaching than the Triparte Intelligence, and more efficient than any Triparte organisation seen before.

It did not matter what he had to do. In this world, there was no morality nor ethicality. There was only practicality. There are no right or wrong methodologies, not when the ends justify the means. And in the end, his leadership made the Triparte Guilds an organisation respected, powerful, and influential in its own right.

Travis was no villain. One could not be a villain if one were victorious. And Travis had won a long time ago. Everything that came after, including the deletion of a dysfunctional tool in substitute of an effective one, was merely maintenance.
