[NOUR]
That night, Nour went back home to his house. He didn't know where else to go, unlike the mated wolves who had found their way to their mates' houses. He was alone, even as he watched Delbert bid him goodnight from a distance.
They both knew the repercussions that lay with having the Acrod enforcer angry, especially on a mating night and frankly, that was too much of a hassle for them.
They could both kill the man and leave no traces and yet for the sake of the fates, they were letting everything be, and hoping that maybe, having a mate would change Grant.
Maybe it would be better. And maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't have to go whoring around. It was unsettling in so many ways, but then Nour couldn't do shit to Grant. At least for now.
"Open the damn fucking door!!" a familiar voice said as he banged the young omega's door, making sure to make a scene so that people would come out and see what the hell was happening.
Most of the people around were omegas, the very people that the elites hated in secret. So seeing the royal enforcer banging at Nour's door was like a ray of hope for them.
They figured that if the royal enforcer was mated to one of them, then he would help them be recognized in society. But then weren't they always recognised?
"He's going to break the door if he's not careful," Anhora sighed as he watched from a distance. He had seen the interactions between Nour and Grant and he could tell that they were mates.
If that was so, then what the fuck was the royal enforcer doing banging the door like he was owed like that? It screamed disrespect and he was making it as loud as possible; probably so that Nour would get up and reject him, but would he?
"Oh great, I got drunkards to deal with tonight," Nour said angrily as the sweet scent of his mate hit his nose.
He could already feel his wolf purring like they were ready to get mated, but there was also the dust that came with the horrifying fact that their mate was a man whore. The man slept with anything and everything that breathed, so this wasn't news to him.
Perhaps he would have a better night, right?
Nour ignored the door, making sure to mute everything around him; he pretended like he didn't hear his mate fumble with the door, or even eventually when the man brought down his door.
He tucked himself, reminding his wolf that it was time for the omega show. It was a perfect one especially with tears that weren't there suddenly showing up, not to mention the eyes that had reddened.
It was a trick that his wolf had always used whenever situations were tense. Because it got him out of so much trouble. However, would that work tonight too? Would it be any better for him when the mate walked in and heard him sniffling?
"Nour Abdallah, my new mate. Wakey wakey!!!" Grant shouted as he ignored the gasps from the people outside.
He knew he was being a menace.
He knew he was tainting the reputation of the mouthy omega and he knew that this was something that even a regular mate wouldn't forgive. What was his intent though? He wanted Nour to reject him, so Alanor would come back to Acrod and comfort him.
It was some twisted logic but the kind that left him sane.
Seeing Alanor leave tonight had been a bummer for Grant, and he still felt the rejection to his core. He had contemplated going to his Nana to rest, but he figured that his nana was asleep.
And since he was mated to the mouthy omega, he would as well make their lives a shit show.
He didn't want to encourage Nour, because a part of him was always, always going to love Alanor no matter what the fates sent their way. That was the horrible truth, and one they would both have to deal with.
'I'll kill him for real this time,' Nour grunted as he ignored his mate's voice. He was pissed because even when the man was walking around his house, looking for him, he could smell another man on him.
This bastard had the audacity to come to him when he had already laid with another. What the hell was Nour even supposed to make of that? Oh, but he was already making a long list of retribution.
He hadn't thought he would be doing this on the first night of their mating, but then as it was, the universe was terrible at pairing, again.
"Oh, look who's asleep," Grant said loudly as he pushed Nour's bedroom door open.
He wasn't sure what he had expected, but a handsome man with hair sprawled all over the bed was certainly not it. He had never taken a second glance at the man he had been mated to and he couldn't help but wonder if this was what he had become.
"Dang, you look pretty as fuck," Grant whispered, almost like he didn't nat anyone to hear him.
Of course, omegas didn't have werewolf abilities, so they were as useless as any other human. But the man before him was nothing close to an omega.
He was the definition of power and could only hope that he didn't have to show the royal enforcer who had the most power between them.
"Fuck," Grant said as he took a closer look at Nour.
He slowed his breathing and made sure that anyone who was looking at him instantly came to the conclusion that he was a heavy sleeper. That did seem to do the trick, because he could smell his stupid mate close to him, and still feel the tinge of the mate bond.
The moon goddess was truly a bitch for this one.
What the fuck was Nour even supposed to do with what was happening?
"Y'know, no one knows this, but I had a mate, and was rejected by him," Grant began as he sat on the ground next to Nour's bed.
His hands were stroking the young wolf's hair like it reminded him of someone he couldn't do that to. It reminded him of an impossible dream that he had been forced to let go of. Perhaps the universe had a reason for all this, though Nour wasn't interested, at all.
"He was so beautiful, the most beautiful masculine man I ever met in my whole life. He was love in itself and was everything anyone would want in a mate. He was power, a beautiful dream that I would chase till the end of the world.
"His very existence gave me meaning and he was my greatest desire. Alanor was the love of my life and sadly, I wasn't his. He promised to be there when I needed him, and yet he went and got a mate, while I am stuck with you.
"Fate is a cruel bitch, don't you think, Omega boy?" Grant said and it took everything in Nour not to wake up and strangled his mate.
'Oh goddess, can't I have someone else?' Nour wished though he knew it was a desperate one that would never come true.
