Chapter 77 - Episode 26 : Yumen Sacred Maiden – Chapter 2

This time there were no secret weapons scattering out. Xu Qiao checked the room and found another empty one. But this empty room was not just an empty room. Huang Yu also checked and found small letters carved all over the walls of the room. These letters were ancient letters that were probably created during the Tang dynasty hundreds of years ago. Or new writing that was deliberately engraved in ancient letters so that it was not easy to read.

"It's a martial manual," Huang Yu said, "no, it's not one but there are three martial manuals that were engraved in the walls of this room."

"What manual?" asked Huang Lian. "Is it a manual of high-level martial arts?"

"If I'm not mistaken this one is the manual of taiyang gong, the martial skills learned by the late husband of the owner of Baiyu Shan," Huang Yu said, pointing at the wall in front of him, "a skill that hasn't existed in the martial world for a years, has almost become a legend."

"We are here to find a way out," Xu Qiao reminded, "we have no right to study a book that belongs to Baiyu Shan without permission."

The four circles again form a number arrangement with a total of sixty-nine. Eight, sixteen, twenty-three, and twenty-two. The door to the martial manuals room closed, then the door to another room opened. This room contained seven swords, each sword was different in shape, size, and color, but each had its own distinctive appearance and character.

They each couldn't help taking a closer look at the seven swords. On the body of the sword, the names were engraved. The seven best swords made by the best sword makers. Huang Lian took one and found a supple sword. Li Qian picked up the largest sword, weighing no less than three hundred pounds.

"These swords each engraved with the title of Liangtian Jian Shen and his six disciples," Huang Yu said. "Possibly, it was our late jiaozhu who prepared these seven swords as another gift, just like the previous white steel fan."

Jinshui picked up another sword. Xu Qiao's attention also fell on it. This sword was jet black in color, it was light in the hand like a piece of wood, but it was made of metal. Clearly, this sword was the most special among the others. The word jian shen was engraved on the side of the sword.

"My father really considered Zhang Laoqianbei as a good friend of his," Jinshui said slowly, "it must be a deep regret to him to admit they really were on different paths."

All swords were returned to their places. They still have to solve the number circle puzzle to find a way out. Jinshui turned the four circles again, on the next number combination, thirty-three, one, eleven, and twenty-four, they found another surprise.

The door to the octagonal room that was open earlier closed slowly, while another door opened.

Water immediately flooded where they were, flowing from one of the walls and directly inundating the feet of the nine people who were there. Jinshui quickly rotated the number circle in any direction, closing the door where the water came from. The door was slowly closed, but the water was still flowing and inundating the room higher and higher.

Jinshui knew they had to get out of there before they suffocated or drowned. He tried to quickly calculate and find the next combination of numbers. Huang Yu, Lin Jixuan, Li Qian, and Xu Qiao all counted and tried to stay calm.

Thirty-three, one, thirteen, and twenty-two, opposite them the numbers eight, seventeen, twenty-six, and eighteen, each exactly forming the number sixty-nine. All circle diameters now show exactly the same amount too. A combination that should be able to open all existing doors at the same time.

Time really felt so slow. Every second felt tense. Nobody could tell how long it had been when they felt the water recede rapidly. The fresh mountain air was seeping in through one part of the octagonal room. Slowly then, all the existing doors opened. There were no secret weapons or shooting arrows or running water. The four-circle combination was correct, an exit opened before them.

Xiaoshan and Xiaohu ahead of the exit, be on the lookout. The others followed, Jinshui and Xu Qiao last.

In front of the hall was one of the cliffs of Baiyu Shan, the sunlight seemed dim, the plain in front of the octagonal room was on a high cliff, surrounded by a deep ravine, in the distance they can see other cliffs that were so beautiful it felt like they were in a residence the gods.

The woman in white who met them in the tomb came out of nowhere, approaching Jinshui and the others. Seeing that Jinshui was still using a cane to walk, the look in her eyes was as cold as when they first met.

"Jiaozhu furen is waiting for you," she spoke shortly, but her voice was a little softer, "everyone, please come with me."

"Guniang, are you really the shengnu of Yumen Jiao?" Huang Yu asked the woman directly.

"My name is Shuqin, the leader of Yuzhi Shi Wu (Fifteen Jade Branches), the main protector of Baiyu Shan," the woman replied in a subtly calm manner, slightly concealing her identity as a sacred maiden from a sect.

"Yuzhi Shi Wu?" asked Lin Jixuan. "What is that?"

"In the past the great master Baiyu Shan had two groups of martial bodyguards who faithfully guarded and protected at all times, one being Shen Feng Di Zhi (Twelve Divine Winds) and Lian Hua Tian Gan (Ten Lotus Flowers)," Shuqin said. "These two groups of martial bodyguards then received orders to follow Gu Qiongnan Gu Daxia, the husband of the great master, to escort and protect him on the battlefield. They all died, and the great master Baiyu Shan then trained the fifteen women into a new small army called the Yuzhi Shi Wu."

"What?" Lin Jixuan heard his lengthy explanation, he was lazy to understand. "Oh, you have a female legion here?"

Shuqin didn't reply anymore, then preceded them all to another part of the cliff, passed through a cave on top of the mountain, and arrived at another, wider plain. It was a place that was quite hidden between a series of interconnected mountains. It was like a valley, but it was also located at an altitude.

In the middle of the valley, there was a sort of flower garden with a small gazebo in between. Four paintings were hanging there, all of which were still unfinished. The tunes of the guqin musical instrument sounded low, and the songs that were sung carried all kinds of feelings.

The one playing the musical instrument was apparently a young girl, sitting on the roof of the pavilion. She was wearing pink clothes, her face was white and beautiful. She was only fourteen years old at most, her eyes were clear but at the same time carried a strange kind of chill. A small face that was actually very attractive, anyone will be happy to approach this little girl, especially if they see a pet by her side, a sweet white rabbit.

The song she was playing was getting faster. Flowers scattered in the air around the gazebo, and another figure came out of nowhere, floating while showing off her secret weapons. Several small birds fell to the ground, writhing for a bit before flying away again in fright.

"Jiejie, injuring a helpless little thing like this, seems too cruel," the girl playing the harp said, her voice soft and calm, still carrying the same cold feeling as the glare in her eyes. The song that was played changed slowly, the figure who had just arrived entered the gazebo and stayed silent among the four paintings.

"I only played with them for a while, neither killing nor injuring," she replied, "which is cruel?"

This girl who had just arrived was wearing a light-yellow dress, her face was much colder than her sister's. She was only a year older, beautiful and graceful. Inside the gazebo, she took her painting tools, mixed the paint, and started dancing to the tunes that were being played above the gazebo. While dancing while painting, four different paintings were done simultaneously. A scene like this in a remote place like Baiyu Shan, was perhaps not that different from the realm of the gods.

The two girls paid absolutely no attention to Shuqin who had come with Jinshui and the others, they continued playing the zither and painting. They performed a stunning sight.

"The girl who is painting is Lengshui, and her sister Hanxue are two members of Hanleng Shuang Yin (Two Negative Colds)," Shuqin told Jinshui and the others. "They were brought to this Baiyu Shan since they were toddlers, directly trained by the master of this place whose face they have never seen. Their parents were both Yumen members in the past, killed thirteen years ago when the Yumen base at the foot of the mountain was destroyed."

"The destroyed Yumen Headquarters was down there," Jinshui said, "then is this place called taiyang feng?"

"It's called feicui feng here, a training ground for us Baiyu Shan guards," said Shuqin. "Taiyang feng is the residence of the great master, even we cannot go there without being summoned."

"Jiejie, your qinggong skills seem to be getting better, your biao attacks are also getting better," the girl on the gazebo shouted in praise. The playing of the musical instruments stopped. "You can drop small birds without harming them, just like our dashanzhu (great master) taught us."

She floated down from the roof, taking only her pet rabbit. The musical instrument was abandoned. The rabbit was hugged with one hand, and the other hand made a gentle waving motion, but the movement was so gentle that it emitted a large gust of wind. Leaves and flower petals flew towards the gazebo, of course disturbing the older sister who was painting.

"Meimei, you want to damage my painting?" the older sister wasn't angry, but she didn't stay silent either, then grabbed the paint container and directed the splash at the younger sibling. Hanxue naturally didn't like having her silky clothes soiled by the dye, for a while she was busy alone, dodging around.

Lengshui brushed against her canvases, continuing to paint leisurely. Hanxue was about to interrupt again, but with a bit of caution in not wanting to get hit by the paint, her attacks were weak. Her sister saw an opportunity, and one of her secret weapons shot, immediately knocking the blood path in her younger sister's body to immobile her instantly.

"It's been two days since I've been working on my painting, it's still not finished because you keep bothering me," Lengshui grumbled in an even tone. "Do you always like to watch me paint with a stiff body unable to move like that?" she was dancing again, inscribing one color after another on her four paintings in turn.

The morning sun splashed her clean face, revealing a distinctive beauty. The dance was very charming, the paintings were also very beautiful.

"I'm just testing you Jiejie, I want to know what level the leng qing yu hua taught by dashanzhu has reached," Hanxue said.

"What do you think?" asked Lengshui.

"Only the first level," Hanxue answered half mockingly.

"This skill is very difficult, and not just anyone can learn it, nor can you practice it hastily or you will injure yourself," Lengshui said. "You're fine training that yun feng nong yue of yours, the two of us don't interfere with each other, wouldn't that be better?"

"Studying yun feng nong yue requires mastering musical instruments, but leng qing yu hua has nothing to do with painting," said Hanxue, "Jiejie, it's no wonder you've only mastered the first level."

A few drops of liquid dye shot out, passing right by Hanxue's right and left, but it was enough to make this young girl scared and immediately cover her mouth tightly. The elder sister clearly knew that her younger sister really liked beauties, just now it turned out that she was just bluffing.

Several other people were coming from another part of the cliff via a series of steps. Lengshui flicked a stone again, freeing her sister from the knocked acupuncture point. Hanxue was able to move again, almost too late to catch her rabbit which had almost slumped out of her arms.

Gu Chenhui came with the Liangshan Liu Mo members who had been controlled, Zu Ye Niang, Li Baixun, and Fuchang Long. Following her was also her disciple or the second member who had helped Jinshui a while ago, Ma Yongtao.

"Lengshui, Hanxue, quickly greet your new jiaozhu," Gu Chenhui immediately rebuked the two young girls who were playing music and painting. The two quickly left the gazebo and approached Jinshui and the others, calling for Shuqin first. But of course, they didn't immediately call jiaozhu because they didn't recognize Jinshui or anyone else.

"This big brother is Hua Jinshui, Hua Jiaozhu," Shuqin immediately introduced Jinshui and allowed the two girls Hanleng Shuang Yin to greet him properly.

"Jiaozhu why is walking with a cane?" Hanxue asked innocently. "Did someone hurt you?"

"The one who injured him was my father," Ma Yongtao was the one who answered. He stepped closer to Jinshui and friendly tapped him on the shoulder. "Huang Xiongdi, you have arrived here too?" he asked Huang Yu before a chess piece shot into his face.

"You are already here too," Huang Yu said to him, "if I didn't remember you were a disciple of jiaozhu furen, I would have already wanted to pit my soul against you."

"I'll arrange a schedule for you," Ma Yongtao replied casually. "Jinshui, that day you just left me with your girl, I was actually going to catch up with you, it's just that I don't like disturbing you two love birds." He glanced briefly at Xu Qiao. "Xu Guniang has taken good care of Jinshui, I thank you."

"I look after Jinshui Gege, what does that have to do with you?" Xu Qiao asked. "What are you thanking me for?"

"Jinshui hasn't told you yet?" asked Ma Yongtao. "He has helped my father, twice, I have sworn to be loyal to him for life."

"Jiaozhu furen," Jinshui paid no heed to the demon head, directly greeting Gu Chenhui and saluting accordingly. Huang Yu did the same, followed by Lin Jixuan and also Li Qian.

"Jinshui, the other descendants had arrived at Chen-an City a few days ago and I then brought them over to Baiyu Shan," Gu Chenhui said, "also joined by Yaoyao and the others. It's just that you're not around, we're worried about you. Then Shuqin told me that you were already in the tomb, and I was waiting to meet you here."

"Jinshui had to pass through the Bai Family tomb to get here," Jinshui replied, "hope that Jiaozhu Furen doesn't mind."

"It's fine," Gu Chenhui replied, "as long as we get here safely."

"Jiaozhu Furen, where are Liao Xian and the others?" asked Huang Yu.

"Who is Yaoyao?" Lin Jixuan asked. There was already a shengnu, a group of female legion, two girls Hanleng Shuang Yin, now added one named Yaoyao, presumably also a girl.

"Yi Pengpian has already arranged for his granddaughter to become the interim leader of the new Yumen members, they have been waiting for you to rebuild the base down there for a long time," said Gu Chenhui. "There were also some men who came, they said that their leader, named Lao Diaoyan and Lao Guishou, are now in their way here with a number of other men from Anning Hegu."

"That's right, along the way we have gathered people as new Yumen members," Huang Yu said. "It's time to start everything."

"It's just that right now we have a bit of a problem," Gu Chenhui's tone suddenly changed. "People from the martial world have been flocking to Baiyu Shan for the past few days, and from what I see, their goal isn't to join forces with the Yumen."
