In front of Regina's eyes was blackness. It was dark; no population, no township, nothing there but the looming blackness. She glared at the man supposedly saving her, trying to figure it out. He smirked, slowing to a stop. She stared out the window again, disbelieving. 

'Where were the bright lights of a police station? The comforting sounds of people? Brakes squeaked and he grinned in the shadows. "Come with me." 

"But this is not a police station." 

He chuckled. "No. Not going to the police. But you are home now, just the same." 

Regina's world came to a halt, she gawked. 

'I am dreaming, right? He is not serious, right? He could not be serious. It could not happen. It just could not. Had not I suffered enough with Vulture?'
