Another gust of wind blew through the cave. Wang Jingyuan shivered and coughed some more. Xiao Moxian hurriedly patted her back in an attempt to soothe her. "Jing-Jing, are you alright? You seem pale."
"I'm fine. I'm just cold, and my head hurts a little from the wind."
Xiao Moxian shifted closer to her. Their wet clothes stuck to each other. "I will try to block more wind. I'm sorry, Jing-Jing."
Wang Jingyuan shook her head. "It's alright. I'll be okay."
They sank into silence. The sound of rain filled the cave. Maybe it was the soothing sound of rain, or the adrenaline finally wore off, or her headache, but Wang Jingyuan was getting drowsy. Her brain was trying to tell her that it wasn't safe to sleep just yet; the masked men could be lurking around and she needed to be alert. Plus, they needed a plan for tomorrow. Her body was complaining that she needed rest, and to stop thinking.
"The masked men…" Wang Jingyuan murmured. "A way out…"
