Liu Xiaochen's level gaze was fixated on Wang Jingyuan. She looked away. Liu Xiaochen turned to Xiao-Wu and Xiao-Li. "It has been a very eventful day, and you two went through a lot. Take the rest of the day off and get some rest."
"Thank you, Chief." They chorused together as they stood and bowed their heads in respect to Liu Xiaochen, before leaving the Main Hall together. When they had turned the corner and disappeared, Liu Xiaochen turned back to Wang Jingyuan.
"Junior Sister, now you can tell me what happened during your private meeting with Official Ma."
So she did. As she finished recounting her conversation with Official Ma and Adviser Qian, she took out the jade token and showed it to her senior brother. "If it wasn't for Mo Xian's jade token, Xiao-Wu, Xiao-Li, and I could very likely still be in prison right now, with a death sentence hanging over our heads."
