Hyun Jin suddenly stood up and glared at both the guard and at the young man, who silently stood behind him, his head hung low. He just looked like a timid teenager, who is ready to get reprimanded by his parents for his mistakes.
Hyun Jin didn't pay much heed to the young man and enquired the guard, "Did you just let him in? How is able to get inside in the first place?" he rasped out, while the guard stood motionless and expressionless. But, what Hyun Jin missed while standing up was the guard, handing a letter to Ha Na. A Letter of recommendation.
Entering into the Kang's residence was a big deal. Not anyone can just barge in into the house. They had to undergo a full security check and get permission from the listed people to enter the house. Only a handful of servants and guards were given special access cards to enter the different rooms of the house for cleaning and security check, otherwise, no one were supposed to enter except the kitchen and open area, at the side of the mansion.
Ha Na quietly took the letter that the guard placed in front of her, ignoring her secretary who was angrily glaring at the guard. Her eyes lit up, as soon as she read the permission letter. She couldn't suppress the grin that was surfacing on her beautiful face. "Hyun Jin." She called her friend, with low and calm voice and he turned around frfrowning
After examining her facial expression, he knew she was going to take charge, so it is better that he backed away now.
"You can leave." she dismissed the guard with a wave of her hand. The guard bowed and left the trio alone, to their own business. The atmosphere went silent, when the guard left and the two friends just stared at the young man, who was standing confidently or rather, stiffly in front of them. Hyun Jin had a little frown on his face, while the young miss Kang had a small smile on her face.
"Hyun Jin, you can't scare away people always. Guests rarely enter my home, you need to treat them politely. Look at the young man, he might have got a huge shock because of you, " Kang Ha Na sided the young man, thinking he brought news about Jung Ho, and worried, he might lie because of Hyun Jin's rude behavior. Otherwise, why would she painstakingly meddle in others business. Who is him to her? To stand for him opposing her best friend?
" Please take a seat, mister." she politely guided her hand, showing the opposite side of the couch, for the young man to sit. Hyun Jin was confused by her polite behavior towards the unknown young man. He frowned, when he saw the change in her attitude. He began to think, what made her such an obedient young lady now.
To say truthfully, it was all because of Jung Ho. This man got the letter from Jung Ho, which means, he must have news about her lover's whereabouts or atleast any clues about her lover, and she couldn't miss this chance.
She understood Hyun Jin's confusion filled eyes and gave him a hint, directing her eye sight to the teapoy and looked at the man, that's only when Hyun Jin spotted the letter laying on the table. He took the letter and scanned, understanding the reason behind her polite behavior.
No offense, just an opinion of his, but Hyun Jin believed that Ha Na was mostly rude to unknown people and whenever he try to scram them off, she never got any say in it.
Ha Na continued to stare at the young man, who was now sitting stiffly with back straight and eyes stuck on the back of his palms, which rested in his lap. She wasn't noticing it, but the aura around him was of nervousness and anxiety.
Her happiness of finding some hope was making her ignore the early signs of the storm that was going to wreak havoc in her life.
The young man is handsome and had a good physic, with broad chest and shoulders, seemingly strong torso and long legs. His facial features were chiseled to perfection and they would develop even more, as he moved up his age.
His dressing style was casual. Just a simple shirt, with black slacks and a coat over it, to prevent the cold to seep to his body. His brown hair covered his forehead and was almost covering his warm brown eyes.
But, the suspicious thing about him was his stiff nature and worry in his eyes. At some point, negative scenarios started playing in Ha Na's head, but she immediately shook her head, to get rid of them and focus on the good things.
Hyun Jin watched the man, with suspicious eyes. He had a bad feeling about this man being here at this time. He realized, the man was too stiff to start anything and he surely knew his boss wouldn't start anything, so he took it upon himself to start the conversation.
"Who are you?" Hyun Jin tried his best to not come off rude and maintain level in his voice and he was thankful, it came out something close to his expectations. The man flinched and jerked his head in the direction of Hyun Jin.
The secretary frowned at his behavior. Why was this guy flinching so hard when I didn't even sound scary? Or did he not even notice me? He glanced over to his boss and found her with a neutral expression. She doesn't seem to catch the danger alerts that were showing or maybe she was just ignoring it.
"Lee Ji hun." The young man slowly muttered and bowed a little to the people in front of him, then pressed his lips into a thin line, after uttering the words. Hyun Jin and Ha Na shared a glance and looked at Ji Hun, who returned back to staring at his hands.
"What is your purpose of coming here?" Hyun Jin questioned again, with a casual tone, so not to startle the man again. Ji Hun looked up again, but towards Ha Na, who remained with her casual neutral expression, but her eyes expressed excitement.
Ji Hun knew that excitement was, of course, not for him and soon, he would be the cause for that emotion to crumble down.
He turned and grabbed his backpack and placed it on his lap. Hyun Jin and Ha Na were shocked as they didn't notice the bag in the first place. But, they remained silent and waited to see, what the purpose of this young man's visit, with the permission from an important person.
Ji Hun's hand shook as he grabbed something inside his backpack. His face wasn't visible, as his head was bent down and his bangs were covering his eyes. He slowly retreated his hands from his bag.
Documents.
They were some kind of documents, and seeing the bind on them Hyun Jin frowned. He was the secretary of Ha Na and handled most of her documents, except the family ones, that were with their family lawyer and now, this man has brought some kind of documents with him for Ha Na?
Something was definitely wrong.
Ji Hun extended his hand forward, directly towards Ha Na. His hand was shaking badly and he was clutching the document bind tightly, as not to drop it. Hyun Jin rushed to take the documents to check it first, but Ha Na beat him to it.
Ha Na frowned when she finally had the documents in her hand. Dread was pooling inside her stomach. Something was not right. A deep frown settled on her face and she glanced over at Ji Hun, who had his whole face down.
She opened the binds and slowly the papers inside came into view. Her eyes grew large, with every movement of her pupils. And, when she reached the end of the paper, her faced paled and she looked up at Ji Hun, with wide eyes.
She again scanned the papers and flipped to the next pages, but it was still the same. Her eyes were surprised and she was bewildered by what she saw.
She just sat there on the brown couch, stupified and staring at Ji Hun, with the documents in her hand.
The emotions in her eyes flickered and when the realization finally hit her, she stood up and slammed the document bind onto the coffee table in front of her.
The glare that was directed towards Ji Hun was very strong and contained killing intent to it. Ji Hun flinched violently, due to the loud sound and his heartbeat was echoing in his ears and his head felt dizzy.
Hyun Jin was startled at her reaction and he lurched forward to see, what had worked up Ha Na this much. And, what he saw made his eyes pop out and his jaw went slack.
"MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE" was seen in bold letters, with names Lee Jihun and Kang Hana, written on it.
