"Yana, you're working hard," Zion entered the waiting room where Yana sat. A white room with a make-up space, a table between two sofas with refreshments.
"Ah, good job, Zion," Yana smiled and stood up.
"Hah, you've been with me for almost 3 months now and you still treat me as a stranger. Come sit," Zion plumped on the sofa and patted the space next to him.
"Well, you're technically my boss."
"Yet, you act casually with Aiden," Zion teased Yana. Well, that's because I've to act friendly with him since he's my target…
"Do we?" Yana put a bit of space between her and Zion. Zion looked like a typical idol, adored by the teens, yet Yana felt he was interested in her.
In a way that would definitely spark a scandal and bring Yana to the front page again. She moved countries, so the citizens here didn't know her yet. After all, she was on another continent. Yana couldn't afford to make it to the headlines again.
Why did she have to be in this business? And why did Zion have to like her? Yana was sure it wasn't because Zion was too 100% attracted to her nor because he was head over heels in love with her.
Obviously, it was because of his pride. As his manager's assistant, Yana saw how the popular and oh-so-innocent idol branded by the public slept around and made moves on any woman that caught his fancy.
Since Yana didn't fall for him, Zion acted all bright, friendly, bubbly and even a bit childish. Yana was getting a headache. This was so annoying. She really wanted to slap Zion away but this job was crucial to spy on Aiden. There was no way Yana would become Aiden's assistant. A member of Novom. An executive, it was obvious how secure and safe Aiden kept himself.
The first time they interacted, Aiden acted just like Zion, all bubbly and intimate, it was suspicious. Aiden must have already known about her yet he continued to pretend nothing was wrong and so did Yana. For now, she just needed to keep an eye on him.
"Yanaaaaa are you listening?" Zion had the guts to poke her in the cheeks. Forcing herself out of her thoughts and forcing a smile, Yana grabbed Zion's finger, "I'm always listening to you-"
Zion smiled in anticipation.
"Since it's my job."
Eye Smile. Kuagh, Zion was rejected again.
"What a tough nut, I'm troubled haha," Zion scratched the back of his head and laughed embarrassingly. Yana merciless struck him down again, "Where's the manager? Should you even be here?"
In other words, scram to where you belong to and leave me alone.
"Ha, I'm on a break, shooting commences later."
Yana remembered that Aiden was dragged to get his makeup retouched. Now that she thought about it, there wasn't any other staff. Where was the stylist?
"Where's Kim, shouldn't she reapply your makeup and get you ready?"
"Oh… haha…" coughed Zion and continued to scratch his head. This brat purposely sent them away to be alone with her. Well, if he won't go, I'll go.
"I think I should go find he-"
"Wait!" Zion grabbed Yana by the hand as she was about to walk to the door. Zion hung his head low.
"Just..." his words were very soft and nervous, Yana cocked her eyebrows and turned to him, "Give me a chance."
The fuck? Yana blanked and had to quickly put away her disgusted expression as he looked at her.
A confession?? Now? Out of all times? Couldn't he have kept it to himself for the rest of his life? Wasn't it clear he was only out for the fun of conquering and pleasure?
"I-"
"Don't bother, no matter how many times you beg her. She remains ice cold. A chance with her is like a chance to humour the devil. Basically death."
And what the fuck was that? This didn't even make sense. Who the hell was talking about her so-
Ah... the tyrant…
Yana angrily whipped to the door only to see the spitting image of an overbearing CEO she saw the first time after a long while.
An expensive suit, casually flaunting his half-open shirt, tousled hair and a cold gaze. Various emotions welled up in Yana.
Pain, sadness and joy. But she stood there staring at him while he coldly looked past her and talked to Zion. Yet Yana couldn't hear anything, all she did was to control her breathing, her frantic heart and the tears that wanted to spill but Yana endured while one nagging question, no, two, floated around her mind. How? Why?
How was he able to find her? Didn't Roy assure it was impossible? So how did he find her again? And even followed her to another country, across the world?
Why? Why was he so cold and ignoring her? If he acted like this, what was the point in coming here in the first place? Yana knew she was at fault even so-
"Luka," she greeted him, now with a neutral expression. She steadied her emotions. It was useless to think about it. Luka came barging into her life again trying to wreak havoc and Yana had to figure out how to deal with it.
But seeing his cold treatment pained her a lot and she finally understood what she wanted from Luka but these thoughts and feelings were dangerous. It was better if Luka acted this way.
"So you still know my name? I thought after you threw me away, I'll be just another piece of trash in your eyes."
Yana was dumbfounded. Why the hell did he make it sound so dramatic? Why the hell did it sound like they had something going on? The fuck? Yes, Yana was the bad guy here but this didn't mean you had to play the victim so openly! What if people misunderstood?
"Who are you?" Zion stood up and shielded Yana. There! You see! This was the start of a misunderstanding! Gosh, Yana wanted to quit everything and just move to the Bermuda Triangle to never be found.
"It got nothing to do with you," Luka coldly glanced at Zion before his dark eyes rested on Yana. It really has been a while since Yana saw Luka being like this.
It was an alien feeling. A stark contrast to the big baby she was used to. But it seemed like this big baby grew up in a bad way since the caretaker ran away and stomped on this innocent, pitiful baby's heart. What the hell was this comparison?
"B-Boss, where you are so fast- Oh," Bao's eyes narrowed at Yana. Now she had two predators staring at her, it couldn't be more uncomfortable.
"You are an idol?" Luka gave Zion his attention again.
"So what?" Zion became defensive seeing how Luka was condemning him.
"Bao, do you hear? I'm also here to become an idol," Luka turned back to Yana and Zion who were more than perplexed. Chill, tycoon no matter how much of an adonis you are, you as an idol? No fucking way.
"NOOOOO!" but the one seemingly the most heartbroken was Bao. His heart bled thinking about his boss being an idol.
"We! We!" Bao huffed containing his anger, "We already discussed you're becoming an actor! And not an idol!"
Luka's freezing aura indeed had the potential but Zion and Yana exchanged sceptical looks. Yana knew Luka for a long time now and couldn't imagine him being an actor, but Luka was immersed in his role as he confidently strode to Yana, looked at her and said, "I'll become the king of entertainment."
The whole room fell into shock. What the fuck? You think you're shooting a comedy here?
