Now that Yana confirmed Mik was working for the organisation, Yana needed to make Mik useless to them, so they abandoned him at light speed.
A few days have passed since the scandal involving Mik surfaced as sudden as it was suppressed.
Yana has gone to continue her daily life. For now, she kept a low profile. Mik was affiliated with the organisation. Since Mik saw her at the factory and a day later a scandal about him broke out, Mik definitely counted 1 and 1 together and traced it back to Yana.
So to avoid further arousing suspicion and having Mik telling the organisation about her, he hopefully hasn't yet, Yana decided to not do anything for at least a week before she figured out a plan on how to deal with Mik.
The whole day, Yana had to work with an overly clingy Luka who went to the shop and said, "I'll come over for dinner."
"Don-" but Luka already disappeared to talk with the manager. Yana could only go home with a headache.
Since their 'date', Yana has gotten closer to Luka than she wanted to, although she still tried to keep Luka at an arm's length, it was not enough. Luka was a force to be reckoned with and Yana was too caught up in the storm he left behind to resist him.
Imagining what dinner Luka would cook today, Yana put the door keys into the lock and was instantly alarmed. The door wasn't locked. She would never make a simple mistake like forgetting to lock her door. Since Yana already turned her keys, if there was an intruder inside, they already heard her.
There was no point in backing off. Yana had to deal with them head-on. The door locked behind her and she stepped into the dark apartment of hers. Tension brewed in the air but Yana swatted it away like a fly. She saw a faint outline of a person sitting on the sofa before they stood and said, "I've been waiting for a while. Welcome home."
Yana immediately recognised this person and scowled, if she didn't come looking for him, he came harassing her. Yana turned the lights on and remained unfazed, "CEO, oh no, former CEO Mik."
Yana mocked him while visible anger was on Mik's face, "Whose fucking fault is that?"
"Your own?" Yana didn't move as Mik approached her with stomping steps until a paper-thin gap was left between them, "You better watch your damn mouth."
A threatening voice and pulsating veins appeared before Yana, "What are you doing here? I'll call the police."
"Ha!" Mik sneered before he took a step back and stretched out his arms,"But I'm not doing anything."
"You're trespassing someone else's apartment."
Yana watched Mik sit back on the sofa scoffing, "Can you prove it? I can just dish them some lies."
"What do you want?"
Mik gave Yana an amused look, "Who knows?"
Yana had no time to play around with hiim. If he already presented himself here, she would take advantage of him but it seemed Mik read her intentions despite being dumb and arrogant, "Don't try to do anything to me."
Mik loosened his shirt and smirked, "If you do anything to me, people will storm in here."
"What a wimp, can't even come here alone?" yet surprisingly MIke didn't fall for the provocation.
"Relax, I also won't do anything to you, yet," Mik put his legs on the coffee table, "It won't be entertaining to see you suffer so easily."
Yana rolled her eyes. She had no means to verify what Mik said was true or not but if his men were waiting outside, Yana didn't want to take any chances.
The bad thing was they knew where she lived but it wasn't hard to figure out, the problem was that Yana got under their radar again. If it wasn't for Mik-
"If you won't do anything then leave," Yana knew Mik wasn't going to give her information.
But the fact that he came to see her first, meant he really had a big grudge against her. The infuriating part was that Mik seemingly made himself home.
"Once again, why are you here?" Yana's voice turned cold.
"Ha, figure it out yourself!"
Did Mik's appearance here have a significant meaning?
Was he trying to distract her? Was it simply trying to show dominance? Induce fear into her? Or did he want to check if she said anything about the factory? He should already know that the people who came right after were because of her or else how did they clear the factory so easily?
Although Mik was casual, his glaring eyes never left Yana. Yana also wanted to see Mik suffer. She hasn't forgotten how ungently he tried to tie her up. As if Mik read her mind, he stopped staring at her and stood up, "So, who did you tell?"
Ah, in the end, he, after all, wanted to know.
Yana's lips curled up, "Figure it out yourself, dumbass."
"You-" Mik wanted to dangerously close in on Yana again when suddenly the front door opened and a happy-go-lucky Luka came in, "Yana, I've got the ingredi-"
The said ingredients rolled to the floor as with big steps Luka rushed to grab Mik by the collar and smashed him against the wall. Yana put on a surprised expression but she very much enjoyed Mik's agonised face. Mik caught the amused glint in her eyes but Luka tightened his grip, "Where do you think you're looking?"
"Well, well, I thought you threw her away after what happened but damn you're still evolving around such a –"
Slam.
Luka gave Mik no chance to talk. Mik saw danger looming and forced himself to smirk, "Don't pretend to be so tough. Does your lover know I can crush you since you're not the CE-"
Slam.
"Stay away from her."
"Luka, that's enough," Yana was afraid Mik''s men would come, seeing Mik's hand went to his phone. Perplexed, Luka did as Yana said.
Mik grabbed his neck before slyly walking to the door and sneering, "Let me tell you to keep a close eye on the news."
A nasty grin spread before he left.
