Chapter 133 - The almost discovery

With the food laid out before them, Yana and Luka sat on the ground in front of the sofa and ate on the coffee table.

Luka put the food on Yana's plate asking, "How do you need me to help?"

Taking another spoon, Yana looked at Luka. Right now, Yana was gambling. Gambling on trusting Luka.

This time, Yana actively asked Luka to help her with her mission, so it was inevitable to reveal some details and information. Although Yana didn't want to, Luka was the ideal person to help her and frankly, Yana did feel like she could trust him. No, she wanted to.

Today, he has helped her and Yana has become less suspicious of him. Also… being with Luka like this wasn't bad, even though he was too clingy. Maintaining a neutral relationship with give and take was perfect. Anymore and Yana stepped over the boundary and tread on a path guided by emotions and feelings.

This wasn't what she wanted and couldn't happen. Yana noticed Luka's stare and coughed slightly, she didn't realise she was out of it, "Simple. Abuse your power. I want you to create a scandal about Mik. Of course not about what happened today. Something entirely different. And give me an opportunity to talk to him alone."

Luka was a bit stunned before asking, "Yana do you think I'd be close to that bast- punk?"

Yana suppressed a smile, "I'm not saying you are but I know you have your ways to get in contact with him, right?"

"If it's for you, then yes," another cheesy line wanted to K.O. Yana, "I'll create such a scandal, he won't dare to show his face anymore."

Seeing how eager Luka was, Yana was weirdly reassured, "Alright, I'll count on you."

"Then if I do well," suddenly the cute and obedient Luka disappeared and instead a full force of manly charm swept Yana right into his arms as he held her by the waist. His deep eyes burnt a hole into hers before his lips seductively whispered, "You'll you reward me?"

Who was that? Who was this Luka? Hey, you can't just do a 180 degree turn all of a sudden! Yana once again couldn't believe the audacity Luka had.

She threw him a bone and he demanded now an entire body! Most of all, these obvious, wherever the hell they started to appear from, pheromones kept assaulting Yana to strike a deadly hit!

Yana put her hands on Luka's chest to create distance between them and through his shirt, she felt again how sturdy and toned he was.

"I'll think about it," Yana managed to evade Luka's expectations as he seemed content with it and immediately turned into a tail wagging puppy again.

"Ok!" so this alone was enough to make Luka retreat. Yana sighed secretly in relief while Luka knew his boundaries. He couldn't push it too far. For now he should be satisfied by what he could get and by how Yana was nicer to him.

Most importantly, Luka felt a big achievement. Yana actually seemed to trust him as she confided in him about today. And! She asked for Luka's help!

Although Luka had no idea what happened and why she did what she did, Luka was glad that they got closer and he attained a glimpse of the things she kept in secret.

Today Luka felt that he got to know Yana better, the Yana he thought he didn't know anymore. One step after another, they were walking towards each other, so Luka felt he also had to contribute.

Yana let Luka on something she usually hid, so Luka should be honest as well. The problem was he didn't know how to address it, so Luka only clumsily said, ''The protests aren't getting better, right?"

Surprised that Luka could actually talk about something normal and serious, Yana nodded.

Usually, Luka only sprouted some corny and cheesy lines and cling onto Yana but now his words had substance. Luka didn't wait for Yana and continued, "People don't realise it but we already have a recession. The companies are going bankrupt and people tend to spend less nowadays. They're trying to save money but this recession won't last only a few months. It might get worse and all that paper money-"

"Won't have a value anymore," Yana didn't think that Luka would be so clear about this.

Although he was CEO of a big company, could Luka know more?

About who was behind this and who caused this and what their future plans were?

It seemed like Luka knew that the future held much worse and this was only the beginning.

Yana started to get suspicious before a shocking thought entered her mind. Luka was CEO but now he was working full-time at a flower shop, could it be M.M was also facing-

But this shouldn't be right or? Why didn't Yana think of this sooner?

"Yes, so, it's best to invest in gold and silver. Many of the people I know in the circle have already bought an immense amount of it. It travels around, obviously, the normal people won't know or can't afford it," Luka poked his food while staring at the table.

Yana understood. It wasn't only Luka. Most rich people knew that investing in gold and silver was the right decision.

For people who had money, it was easy to survive an economic decline with various methods. Maybe, Yana thought too much. Obviously, Luka also belonged to that high-society circle and got the news from there.

"It's the right move," Yana also bought a small amount of gold and silver but if in the future, money couldn't be used it wouldn't bother her too much, since she was with the EF anyway.

"I'll of course share mine with you!"

There it was, this was the all-familiar big baby Luka. They were having such an indepth conversation about a serious topic but Luka couldn't keep it up for long.

"Actually," yet Yana was surprised again, "The reason why I tell you this is because I'm no longer really the CE-"

Ring ring, Yana's phone rang. Roy was calling.

"Sorry, I need to get it."

Yana left Luka hanging mid-sentence, just when he gathered the courage to tell her the truth.

Actually, Luka was a bit scared, after all, how would Yana see him now that he lost his position and was only a CEO in name?

Luka had to act quickly and restore his position. He couldn't idle around for too long but staying by Yana's side like this was nice, if only this short peaceful time stayed forever…

In the end, Luka was unable to tell Yana about his situation. If he did, Yana might've completely threw her suspicion out of the window but unfortunately, Luka wasn't given the chance to tell her.
