"So, since we're in the same city, we can help each other," Jin slowly beckoned Yana to the passenger seat.
No matter how much Yana tried to stop him, it was impossible. He did as he pleased and Yana couldn't quarrel with him in the parking lot any further.
Yana held the door now and wanted to get in as she stopped and looked at Jin with a serious look that could determine life or death, "No."
"Oh, c'mon, My lady. This lowly subject-"
"This lowly subject will be thrown out of the window if he doesn't shut up," Yana couldn't deal with Jin but had to admit that not a single second with him was boring.
Not a single. Instead, it was filled to 99% with annoyance. Although she had to admit he kind of helped her out today.
Taking a deep breath, Yana faced Jin properly and said, "Thanks for helping me, I guess."
"Oh?" Jin sounded surprised before he very narcissistically threw back his hair and laughed, "It's always my pleasure. So, if you want more help or if I need you-"
"No."
"Yana!" Jin called her by her name for the first time. He even went so far as to take her hands and put it on his chest. Even when Yana tried to remove it, he didn't let her, so she had to endure his nonsense again. She was just one kick away from her peace.
"Why do you insist on helping so much?"
"Because everyone needs help, right? I helped you, so it's natural I continue to help you and you help me in return. Just imagine your treat every time you see me."
Yana grimaced, so she didn't want to ask but still did, "What treat?"
"Me!"
Yana gaged but Jin took no offence to it and only laughed, then he had the audacity to ask, "Let me in?"
Straight out of a gun, Yana answered, "N-" but was interrupted by a "Yana!"
This Yana was different from Jin's dramatic hurt one. This one was full of happiness and anticipation.
Yana turned to the source and saw Luka coming her way in his suit and slid back hair that could take millions of hearts by storm.
Yet when Luka saw her, his face brightened only until his view fell on the guy next to her, holding Yana's hands over his chest, then on their intimate position and lastly, on the other hand of the guy who wanted to lead Yana into his car.
In an instant, Luka's happy expression drowned in an ocean of sadness and pain but it was so brief that Yana and Jin thought they only imagined it.
Instead, a cold and slightly angry expression and demeanour overcame Luka as he hurriedly stepped towards Yana and faced Jin, "I'll bring her home. You can go."
Then he pushed Jin ungently away, held Yana in his arms before he walked away from the car. Both Yana and Jin were stunned silent, seeing Luka act like this.
Yana had to admit she felt very comfortable in Luka's arms but she could also feel the seething anger that evaporated out of him and slightly suffocated her.
Jin was the first to recover and politely smiled without saying anything. Luka couldn't explain why he was so angry. Obviously, he was jealous but Yana wasn't even his girlfriend to begin with, yet he acted as if she was.
Actually, Luka thought he saw her and came to look for her. He indeed found her after a while but it came with a nasty surprise. He glared at Jin and was sure he's seen that stupid face somewhere before.
The more he looked at Jin, the angrier he got. It was indeed a stupid face. Luka held Yana tighter. Right now, Luka knew he was acting ridiculously in Yana's eyes while Jin was the poor victim.
And indeed Yana sided with Jin, tearing Luka into pieces with one action and sentence, "I'll go with Jin."
Yana freed herself away from Luka while approaching Jin.
Jin… Jin…she even called him by his name! Luka… Luka… was devastated!
When Yana said that, she didn't even look at him but just straight walked away. This time Luka didn't even hide the pain he experienced and sadly looked after Yana.
While Jin wore an apologetic smile making him seem even holier! He was polite and empathetic making him completely sympathetic! It was only logical for Yana to choose him!
But when Luka's lonely figure stood in the parking lot, all alone and devastated, watching the car drive off, Yana never once looked back at him. Luka took a deep breath hoping it could flush all the negative emotions eating him alive away. He put his hands in his pockets and trotted back to the event.
His mind couldn't help but overthink who was this Jin guy? He definitely looked familiar. Why was he so close to Yana? Why did she like him to the point she didn't even hide her favouritism? Luka knew Yana longer than Jin, tried to please her, give her everything he had yet this Jin guy came and just swept her away like this.
What did Luka do wrong? Just where did he go wrong? Why was he so different from Jin and the result so plainly obvious? Luka wondered and wondered but in the end, he had no answers, then when he looked up he found himself again in front of the VIP room.
Luka still had business to do, so he stepped into the room but he couldn't forget about Jin. Seeing that Jin also wore a suit, Luka just couldn't let this matter slide. There was definitely someone who knew about him!
"You're back?" Mik grinned but it was a sarcastic one. Luka only ignored him as Mik stood up and handed him a glass before beckoning to have Luka sit next to him.
Luka sat on the armchair while Mik slyly continued to grin, "Sorry, we didn't get to talk much. I'm glad you received my invitation and as fellow members we should get along. I'll forgive you for betraying me."
Luka only felt annoyed at Mik but now that Mik had quite the strong backer, Luka couldn't step over him like he did in the past, especially not when Luka's position currently was fragile.
"You mean when you had the orphanage burn down and kidnap my woman?"
But this didn't mean Luka gave him any face. Mike looked at his drink and anger flew through his face but he stopped himself at the last second, "I was immature, let's put it behind."
Even though Mik suggested this, Luka wasn't interested, he couldn't start a circus here so Luka switched the topic, "Do you know Jin?"
Luka quickly described him and Mik's sleazy face suddenly got serious, "To toast our new friendship, let me tell you to stay away from him. He's very, very dangerous."
