The next day. Yana finally had a day off but unfortunately, she couldn't idle around. Instead, she had to start her preparation. Surprisingly, Yana has slept until noon.
Yesterday after successfully getting rid of Luka, Yana went straight home after work. Until the event, Yana has decided not to scout anymore and keep away from the club.
Since Mr Rosaneli has already noticed her there was no reason for her to take a risk and reveal herself. For now, she had enough information to work with. That was why Yana stayed at home and tried to find out as much as possible about the event to prepare herself.
The event itself was disguised as a friendly neighbourhood gathering, not much of it was exposed on the internet. It was made as unappealing as possible and even though there were tickets to be bought, it was all just a front. Once someone clicked on the link to buy them, it led to either an 'error' page, or that it all had been sold off.
In other words, this was another exclusive event where only people from the circle with the invitation could attend. An event of the high society. A bigger version of the secret society club. Yana could understand the purpose of the event, to gather, network and show off but Yana couldn't understand the need to disguise the event as a basic and boring occasion.
Couldn't they just say it was an event for the rich? However, Yana couldn't care less about the reason. As long as she knew what she was getting herself into, it was fine. After she woke up, she quickly ate lunch and readied herself to go out.
To attend the event, she needed to look the part and currently, her wardrobe left much to be desired. Before Yana went shopping, she first went to the bank. She didn't like to pay with the card as it left trails behind. Instead, withdrawing from the bank didn't show where she had been.
The minimum money she could withdraw was only 500, so she had to go to counter which was a bother. Yana adjusted her sunglasses and hat. With her flattering summer dress, she approached the staff.
"Hello, how may I help you?" the lady behind the counter was very polite. She saw how rich Yana must be. This elegant and dignified air wasn't easy to replicate. In an A-tier city like city A, the rich ruled.
As a white-collar worker, the lady had to give her best service in order not to accidentally offend anyone unassuming.
"I'd like to withdraw 2000," Yana only needed to buy the basic stuff. For anything else, Marie sent it to her. In terms of equipment, no place was better than EF.
"2000?" the lady's smile twitched slightly as she checked Yana's bank account after Yana gave her the card. This amount of money, even if the lady worked all of her life, she could never attain!
You want to withdraw 2000? How about you just withdraw all of it and throw it into our faces to show off? Let us cough blood and worship you!
"Please wait a moment," the lady left the counter to fetch the money. Yana looked after her until she heard a cheerful voice, "Ah, it's good to see you again! Please come this way. Please."
This kind of treatment could only mean someone important came.
Yana turned to the commotion and almost choked. Why was he here?
A chubby, bank staff led Mr Rosaneli up the stairs to the second floor for business purposes. Yana subconsciously pushed her sunglasses up as her eyes followed Mr Rosaneli. His posture was very straight and his face was unmoved. White streaks ran through his black hair. Now that Yana looked at him in bright daylight, all she could describe him with was the sentence 'aged like fine wine.'
"Here you go. 2000. This is the recipe and your card," the lady came back and handed Yana her stuff.
"Thank you," reluctant Yana moved to the entrance. She debated if she should wait for Mr Rosaneli or not. But waiting for him in front of the bank for who knew how long was just too suspicious. After ringing with herself for a few seconds, Yana decided to leave it be.
He might be here solely for bank matters and then go home. There was no point to trail and arouse his attention. After Yana decided not to follow him, she quickly walked to the high streets that weren't too far from here. The protests seemed to have dimmed down during these past few days but there were still quite a lot of people blocking the streets.
Yana was able to quickly arrive, however, she still couldn't forget about Mr Rosaneli. Aimlessly, Yana walked into a boutique. The clothes were all elegant, beautiful and expensive. Yana was so immersed in her thoughts she didn't even notice the woman's greeting.
"Miss, can I help you?" plastered with a wonderful bright smile the staff welcomed Yana.
"I'm fine, I'll just look around," Yana preferred to take her time instead of having the poor staff on her tail all the time.
Being here in this shop surrounded by all these exquisite dresses made Yana reminisce about the time Bao forced her to check out all the stores in City M. Yana's face turned sour briefly. Luckily-
"Miss Yana?" the devil came right knocking at her door.
"Bao?" Yana pursed her lips for a second before instantly turning left and right to see if the overlord was personally here.
"My boss isn't here," Bao's face blanked, seeing Yana's dramatic movements trying to scout if Luka wasn't hiding somewhere.
"Oh, is that so? How… convenient," Yana smiled and appeared dignified, "Why are you here?"
Yana watched with amusement yet confused how Bao's face turned from a blank sheet to a paper full of black lines.
The look he gave her just screamed that it was obvious, yet Yana didn't think it was. Bao being in a woman clothing store…
"For your girlfriend?" in an instant the black lines formed a chaotic storm and rained blood, "What girlfriend? I'll never get a girlfriend! Every time I'm out to enjoy my freaking blind dates, my damn boss wants to ruin my life, all because of-'' Bao instantly quietened down and cautiously looked around, "I mean, my wonderful amazing and lovely boss who is generous to give a lowly white-collar worker like me a pay raise," Bao went from 0- 1000 to 1000- -1000.
"Is Luka here after all?" Yana followed Bao's movement. Bao shook his head, "But you never know! He always pops up! Watch the next second, he'll call me."
Bao flipped out his phone and coincidentally it started to blink. Bao as quickly as a mouse shut off his phone, "Oh, suddenly my battery went ou. Either way, Miss Yana, why are you here?"
Amused, Yana decided to play along, "Here for a dress."
But at these words, Bao's eyes gave off a dangerous sparkle. Oh no, Yana knew what was about to come.
