"Hatred?'' the woman looked at the blueish-purple flowers in a glass vitrine that reeked in a beautiful stone pot in front of her. Currently, Yana and the woman stood at a more desolate part of the store far in the back. This part was only accessible through a staff member. The reason for that was-
"Please don't touch it," Yana quickly walked in front of the flower shielding it from the woman who stretched out her hand and wanted to open the vitrine, "Unfortunately, the flower is highly poisonous so it can't be sold."
Before the woman could question why Yana even bothered to show her this flower, Yana crouched down and opened a drawer from the cupboard the flower stood on.
Then she pulled out a small glass vial with a cork. Inside were the blue dried flowers with a logo around the glass that read 'Wolfsbane- Aconitum napellus'
"This contains 10 millilitres of full dried monkshood flower petals. It's still toxic, so caution needs to be exerted," Yana dangled the glass vial in front of the woman and studied her expression.
Frankly, the way the woman formulated her request made Yana worry a bit. Now that the woman knew it was toxic, would she try to kill someone with it?
"Although it's not an actual bouquet, you can still give it to someone to make your intent clear just please warn them about the toxicity," Yana continued as the woman slowly nodded.
"Then please give me a bottle," the woman reached for the bottle but Yana pulled her hand back. There was actually a reason why Yana recommended this flower instead of another that could symbolise more or less the same.
Because this flower was toxic, Yana had to make sure the woman had good intentions, thus it was the perfect excuse to get more information from the woman as well as her personal details. It gave Yana an opportunity to pry.
"Please understand that aconite's poison can be life-threatening, so I hope you don't mind if I clarify your intention," Yana waited for the woman to agree.
This wasn't a foolproof plan because the woman could just give up on the flower and request for another one, however that also indicated she had something to hide. Meaning it raisef suspicion.
In a way or two, Yana still had the woman cornered.
"Of course, please ask ahead," there was no change in her expression.
"Then if you don't mind. Who are the flowers for?"
The woman expected the answer but still took a few seconds to answer, "For my husband."
"Husband? Did he cheat?" Yana bluntly asked but the woman didn't seem to mind, "You're awfully curious but worry not, he didn't and even if he did, I wouldn't bother with something this small."
"I see," Yana saw that if her husband dared to cheat on her, he was done for.
"It's for one of my husband's… how should I call him… colleague? A new friend?"
"You don't seem very sure," Yana found the woman was definitely hiding something. The way she formed her sentences were highly ambiguous and odd.
"Well, I'm not sure how to describe him. All I can tell you is that he isn't exactly welcome by my husband and his peers… for now."
"I'm sorry if you don't clarify yourself properly, I'm afraid that you want him harm," Yana's smile dropped and she turned serious.
The woman also noticed that, so she continued, "It's not that. As you've mentioned, this is to give him a warning as a newcomer. My husband is part of a gentlemen's club and it's difficult to get into without a club member's recommendatoin. That's why this present serves as a kind reminder to be careful. My husband is a good person and wants the newcomer to be wary."
The moment Yana heard the word ' Gentlemen's Club', she instantly knew she was lucky. It might not be the club she thought of, but all the hints the woman gave, highly matched the one in Yana's mind. This was the clue Yana waited for. Instead of searching for so long, it finally came to Yana without any effort.
"I see," Yana repeated, "I hope this newcomer can heed your kind generosity. Please follow me to the counter."
Yana led the woman to the counter while out of her eye corners she saw Luka taking care of a few female customers.
Ever since Luka's started working here, the number of girls that came, obviously to see him, has increased. But Yana didn't care about it. Right now, she had to contain her joy of getting this hint of information. It might not seem much but it was actually huge.
A newcomer in a members-only club and none of the members knew about it. This was obviously a sign that something bigger was about to happen.
"Please leave your contact details here and sign the form that you understand the clauses and warnings and that whatever happens, we aren't responsible for what you do with the flowers. If any harm befalls anyone, you are responsible for it. Please also note that in case of your misuse we will contact you," Yana handed the woman two forms. One to fill in her contact details and the second one a disclaimer she had to sign.
After the woman signed it, Yana stapled the two documents together and then put them next to the computer.
"This would be 15 please," Yana packaged the glass vial in a small box and wrapped it up nicely before handing it to the woman.
"Thank you."
"It was a pleasure. Please visit us again," Yana saw the customer off before rushing back to the counter and taking the form with her to the changing room.
Once inside, Yana snapped a picture of the contact details. It wasn't exactly legal to use the customer's information for private purposes but it was crucial for Yana.
Yana put the phone away and looked at the name of the woman 'Marga Rosanel'.
Rosanel... Yana hasn't heard of his name before. When she checked all the influential people in City A, this name never popped up. Neither in the club's member list.
"Hmm," Yana looked at the address. It was in the typical area where all the rich people lived. Maybe Yana should pay a visit tonight to make sure this Marga Rosanel didn't write a fake name or address.
