"What the fuck are you doing here?" Yana lowered her bat and growled. Just seeing that handsome person put her in a bad mood.
"Shouldn't I be asking that?" Luka's eyebrow raised as his eyes lingered on the bat that Yana inauspiciously moved behind her back again. Then with an annoyed glare, she instantly rushed to her apartment.
Having been caught in an almost violent act, Yana felt embarrassed. She has never considered the possibility of someone moving in. If it wasn't Luka who became her new neighbour but an innocent person, Yana might have to clarify herself to the police. And her neighbour would forever brandish her as a criminal who wanted to harm others.
Yana was too impulsive. Instead of already trying to swing her bat, she should've only brought it out when she confirmed there was indeed a danger. Maybe that was why Roy called her reckless, maybe that was why he didn't give her important missions. Even now, Yana could see that she would mess them up.
Yana was about to close the door when she realised that Luka stood behind her. Shocked she jumped up and raised the bat again. She was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't even realise that he was following her! Yana was a disgrace as a member of the EF. Maybe she should start with basic training again.
"What are you doing here?" Yana narrowed her eyes as Luka held up his hands seeing that Yana had no intention of lowering her bat.
"I won't do anything to you, so do you mind putting that down?" although there was slight fear in Luka's voice, the mischievous sparkle in his eyes told Yana his real feelings and that put her in an even worse mood.
"Oh," Yana put it next to the door, "I heard weird noises so-"
"You wanted to beat someone harmless up," Luka smirked but Yana sharply said, "Shut up."
"I just wanted to move in, who knew such a terrifying aggressive person would be my neighbour," Luka sang and closed the door behind him.
"It was a mistake, ok? And what are you doing here now?" Yana didn't miss him cheekily closing the door and inviting himself, "Didn't I already make our relationship clear?"
"Yes, at work. Now, I'm reintroducing myself as your neighbour," Luka said naturally as if there wasn't anything wrong with his statement.
Shameless! Yana's eyes twitched. She really had no idea what he wanted! First he followed her to work and now he had the damn audacity to even live next to her?
"What the hell do you want?" Yana's patience ran short as Luka looked around her place before his gaze fell on Yana and a gentle smile appeared on his face, "Do you really want to hear it?"
Now that Yana thought about it, "No."
Luka made a surprised face but still said, "Because I won't let you go again. This time you can't run away."
Yana pulled away, "So a stalker."
Luka shrugged his shoulders, "Well, I think we fit. A stalker and a, hmm, what should I call you, troublemaker?"
He even admitted he was a stalker!
"Oh, how perfect," Yana sarcastically said. Surprisingly, she didn't mind being called a troublemaker.
"Now, leave," Yana reached behind Luka to open the door when he did something unexpected.
He bent over a bit to match her height until their faces were close enough to touch.
"Yana, I'm serious," Luka's soft mumble danced in her ears and his hot breath tingled her neck and his smell was too intoxicating. Quickly, Yana stepped away from him and couldn't control the disbelief on her face. Why in the world was Luka always trying to be so close to her? Couldn't he stop wanting to be touchy touchy?
Yana gulped down the barrage of words he wanted to drown him with and only said, "Get out."
Before she turned around and sat on the sofa turning on the TV. However, Luka didn't move. He took the opportunity of her not pushing him out as a sign that it was ok for him to be here.
Although Luka wanted to stay away from her and give her time, once he saw her again, after the agonising work time of not being able to be close to her, Luka just couldn't follow his own conviction.
Just one look at Yana, just her presence made him weak and go back on his own words. After all, he still wanted to be close to her and have her fall for him this way. And just like that, he broke his own promises.
Yana's eyebrow twitched as she heard him rummaging in the kitchen until she couldn't take it anymore and looked in his direction, "What the hell are you doing now? And didn't I tell you to go? This isn't your place!"
"You should be careful. Your food almost burnt in the oven," Luka ignored Yana's words and made himself look as good as possible. He wanted to be husband material.
"Oh," Yana almost forgot about her food. Luka had a point. She had to admit but she still couldn't let him do as he pleased. Especially not when she swore to stay away from him. At work, he was so obedient but now, who knew he actually moved in next door?
He could annoy her even more. Was he so relentless about it? Yana was left speechless, even as Luka sat next to her and placed down the food on the table.
Only then did she notice a crucial point. Why was she so accepting of his presence here and didn't even question him?
"You're really free huh, aren't you?" Yana sneered. This damned CEO! What the hell did he think to move to City A and even work in a flower shop?
"What about your work? Your company?"
"Don't worry, I work from home now."
Don't worry? Work from home? What the hell? Could he actually do that? He was the damn boss! He had to hold meetings, take lead of the company and who knew what damn shit!
Who knew how he was so unfazed by it? Especially when things were drastically changing for the business market! Wasn't he afraid? Wasn't this a crucial time to secure his company's safety in this country? Just what the fuck was this clown doing?
Luka saw the disbelief on Yana's face again and coughed as he spooned the food onto her plate, "Eat before it becomes cold. You have to properly take care of yourself."
"Shut up," Yana turned away from him and looked at the food as if she was questioning if it was poisoned or not.
Seeing her like this Luka laughed a bit before he sighed, "Don't worry about me. My company's fine. I know my job and my capacities or else I wouldn't be here, with you," he added and saw how Yana's face turned green.
"I don't care!"
He found it adorable how Yana purposely avoided him but didn't push him away.
But what Luka told Yana wasn't entirely false. He wasn't here idly spending time with her while neglecting his company. In fact, it was worse, because of his contract with Yolinda, Yolinda told him to do what he wanted, although he was still the CEO, he only had to do some paperwork. The rest he should leave to her while he could go and enjoy his free time.
Yolinda used the current fragile time for businesses and the economy as the reason but Luka knew there was another reason: Paul. However, Luka was powerless, he couldn't reject Yolinda's decision and could only abide to what she said. This was concerning. Luka was still technically the CEO but now it seemed like only in name.
