Chapter 86 - Lessons taught

"Miss are you sure it's here?" the driver was confused as to how any sane person would want to get out in this creepy place with nothing but obvious danger lying around.

"Yes, here's fine," Yana pulled her cap a bit further down as her sunglasses moved towards the driver. After handing him the money, the cab sped off and left Yana alone.

In the outskirts, not far from where the apartment with the children was, was a shallow place hidden behind a forest. Past the chaos of the messy green, that covered the sky so only darkness was left behind, was an abandoned-looking house.

The weird thing about it was that it looked like a garage with two floors. The walls were made out of cement and there were no windows. Only one door that led inside. Outside the house were two cars and two large men waiting, Yana hid behind a bush and sighed.

She knew Sam wouldn't kill Seli even if Yana said he should, after all a hostage was still useful and Sam was desperate to stop Yana.

Since Sam was apparently more clever than the other two, Yana guessed that Sam would have the feeling she was bluffing. Yana checked out the surroundings and didn't waste more time. She looked around the ground and picked up a twig.

The two guys stood away from each other. One was directly in front of the house while the other one was in the car. The distance between the car and the house were four metres and the distance between the car and the forest were 6.

Since Yana had no weapon she couldn't take on two guys at the same time and it might also alert Sam who could escape with Seli using the car. Thus Yana needed to lure one of them away.

After making up her mind, Yana took off her disguise and made sure she was properly ready. Then together with her bag, she put down all of her belongings on the ground, hidden in a bush.

Crawling closer to the edge of the forest, Yana threw the twig towards the car in a low arc. Then the slight rustle of the branches and footsteps finally convinced the men that there was someone in the bushes.

Confident that he could deal with it alone, the man with a mean face at the car nodded to the other guy who had a tattoo across his face.

The bald guy approached the spot Yana was just a few seconds ago. Once Yana saw that he fell for the plan, she moved backwards and used the density of the forest to her advantage.

Her eyes locked with his as he turned around to look for her. Yana gave him a small smile as he stepped closer, "Who are you? What do you want?"

Yana didn't answer instead she backed off. She had to lure him further away from the house in case his mate would come to provide backup. The mean guy was indeed around 1.9 m tall instead of Yana who only looked to be half his size for her to take him on.

It was best to avoid him head-on but there was no choice. Yana couldn't just creep up on him to knock him unconscious, in the first place this wasn't possible like the movies let on.

Performing a chokehold on him from behind was also not possible since Yana's figure was smaller and weaker than his. So the only way she beat him was to fight dirty and bloody.

Yana didn't want to waste more time. Since his limbs were long, Yana had to be as close as possible to him and instead of tanking his shots, she had to dodge as fast as possible.

"Listen here, little girl, leave and I'll pretend none of this happened," surprisingly the guy was quite reasonable.

"But I need to get inside?" Yana tilted her head like a lost lamb.

"If you value your life, leave."

"I value my life but I have to go inside?"

A few veins appeared on his forehead, "Don't blame me for being too rough. I'll give you a last chance. I'll count to three. 1-2-"

SWOOSH-

The moment he reached two, Yana bolted forwards and released the dirt and leaves she held in her hands to obstruct his view. Not calculating the surprise attack, the guy stumbled backwards until the dirt got into his eyes, "You damn-"

KUAGH-

Not giving him a chance, Yana hit him in the throat and then aimed for his eyes. Staying as close as possible to him to avoid the reach of his long arms, Yana dogged as he blindly swung hoping to catch her.

But Yana was a step faster since she had a lower centre of gravity, all she needed to do was to take him down- make him lose his balance and fall.

It didn't take the guy long to open his eyes and see properly, seeing that Yana was about to kick his knees, he instantly knew what she was aiming for. So he moved forward wanting to use his weight to press her down, however, as smooth as wind Yana spun around his body even while she was crouched and effortless managed to get behind him.

Using the momentum of him already bending forwards, Yana kicked him, causing him to lose balance and fall to the ground. He managed to stop himself by pressing his hands on the ground and stopping the fall, but the next second his head was slammed to the dirty earth.

Blood trickled down his nose and a bitter pain spread from the centre of his face.

"I swear you-"

BAM

Yana's foot landed on the back of his head again, then she kicked his arms away that supported him on the ground before she finally kicked him in the knees until he laid flat. His head was buzzing but he couldn't rest for a second.

He was so confident but why was he outdone so quickly with such simple movements? They weren't anything fancy, but the way she moved, the way she executed her attacks and the force in each attack was definitely the level of a pro.

Was she a pro fighter, no, a street fighter or trained? If an amateur would try the same attack pattern as her, the result would be severally different. In less than a second, the guy could've crushed them but this female was more slippery than an eel.

Yana, on the other side, was incredibly calm, the sight of blood irked her but she justified it as necessary. No matter what fight, the most important things were to take away their ability to fight and even more so, their will to fight. Cush them properly, so even if they recover they never want to fight you again.

Yana could easily get on top of him and perform a chokehold but that wasn't effective. The opponent would only be unconscious for about 20 seconds maximum, and when released they woke up again, and during the time they could always retaliate, so that was why it was even more important to completely shatter them. Yana wasn't a merciless person but when she had to she was brutal as it benefitted her.

So, in only two seconds, Yana decided. She took him by the hair and dragged him towards a tree.

Seconds later, loud banging noises were heard. Once, twice and for a third time until his blood trickled down and formed a puddle on the ground.

Until the guy's nose and teeth broke and his face was mushy, Yana continued to hit him against the tree with a blank face but in reality, her hands trembled.

'To take your revenge and survive in this rotten world, to bring down the ones who play God, you've to become vicious, merciless yet charming and irresistible. Anything that can become a weapon, use it, even if it goes against your morals or beliefs. Throw away your emotions. Don't forget your goal, don't show benevolence to those who stand in your way. No matter how small, always emerge victoriously,' Roy's words echoed in Yana's mind.

Then she softly mumbled, "You forgot one thing. Always prioritise yourself."
