Yana's heart was beating calmly. She was neither nervous nor fazed. Being put in situations where she had to have the upper hand with her words was too common for Yana who had to go through it many times in the past.
Of course, the circumstances and content was different. But even Yana knew that she was starting to go overboard. Dragging the CEOs into this would only make them her enemies.
But it didn't matter because once Yana humiliated those three, their companies' reputation was bound to be tainted and it'd take a whole ordeal for them to wash it clean again. Yana has already resolved herself. She was ready and prepared for the consequences.
Angering the managers would only let them to speed up their plan and act rashly. This was what Yana aimed for. Them being so enraged, they'd act reckless and make stupid mistakes.
The light that shone at them on stage was relentless and got hotter by the minute. From the stage the audience could barely be seen in the darkness, yet, everything that happened on stage, every little facial expression, gesture or words was clearly watched with hawk eyes.
"Oh, why is no one speaking now?" it was just as Yana said.
The whole hall, the managers and the host, no one uttered a word. They were all too stunned and speechless to say anything.
Meanwhile, Bao stared at his boss and shook his head. He didn't know that Yana was such a person. She seemed like a carefree, reckless and useless beauty, but Bao was wrong. Yana could hold her own against them.
Her defiance wasn't solely aimed at his boss but at the whole high society circle! Bao only realised it now. That woman was nuts!
She didn't care if she made all of these people present her enemies. Just who the hell was she? Just where did her confidence come from? Even if she had a strong backer, they couldn't possible match the status and influence all these people here had, right?
Bao saw red. If this went further, Yana also indirectily insulted these high-ranking people, she was basically sending herself off to the guillotine! Worse than that, his boss' reputation would be dragged through the mud too!
"Boss," Bao leaned forward and whispered to Luka who stared at the magnified face of Yana on screen, "This is bad. If this continues, she won't make it out alive here. You have to stop her!"
No reply came.
"Boss! Boss!" Bao aggressively tugged on Luka's suit until the statue finally came alive. Luka turned to Boa and nodded, "You're right. It's bad to let this opportunity go to waste."
"W-What?"
What opportunity? Bao didn't understand what his boss was talking about but then-
In the middle of the silence-
FLASH FLASH FLASH
CLICK CLICK CLICK
"Boss! At least turn the flash and sound off!" Bao was exasperated! Yana, this femme fatale, was definitely making his boss into a damn lovestruck fool!
"I can't let this ethereal moment go. I need to capture it," as if Luka was possessed by the Goddess of Beauty and Love, in the middle of the dark hall, he stood up and pulled out his phone to take countless pictures of Yana to capture how beautiful she was in this moment.
All jaws dropped to the ground seeing the usual indifferent and cold CEO turn into a literal fanboy.
"Ah this angle is good! This angle is even better. No, no this one-"
Like a photographer who drank 10 energy drinks, Luka changed heis position and walked around in a frenzy to get the perfect angle of Yana. Her champagne coloured dress really illuminated her features and sparkled under the limelight.
Yana was still smiling as the damn camera refusing to move away from her face, so she could only let a battlefield of veins popping on her forehead loose.
'Luka. You're so fucking dead!' As if she didn't already make a fool out of herself, this clown brought 10 worse the shame back.
As the guests finally got used to Luka's behaviour, whispers flew around and took the hall by storm. This wasn't good. Yana had to divert their attention. She wanted to pull Luka on stage to kick him down again but calmed herself.
Yana looked at him and their eyes met. She gave him a glare but Luka's eyes were filled with adoration! Yana gave up. She lost to him. Alright. She needed to lead their focus to something else.
"Well," Yana started and the crowd died down, "I'm honoured to receive this chance to hold a speech. I hope that the three representatives of the great companies M.M works with will also give their heartfelt respect to the charity."
The three managers flinched. That was right. This was the attraction and not Luka making a big fool out of himself.
Yana successfully got everyone on the right track again and was thankful that Bao managed to keep Luka glued on the chair, yet why the hell was that idiot still holding up his phone? Stop taking pictures already!
"Y-Yes, please take your time," the host realised that he had to properly do his job and took lead again.
"As you might all know. Orphanages are nowadays a rare occurrence in our world. Some countries, especially the third world and developing countries have an abundance of them but the first world has almost gotten rid of them. I'm sure the politicians had a good reason for that."
The guests looked at each other. That girl was seriously bringing even politics into this? Did she even want to live? The politicians, the government, politics were of the highest status and precedence in the world. Badmouthing them in public, wasn't she afraid to be instantly nuked?
"Our project, therefore, is to remodel an orphanage and give children in need a bright future. It may sound simple but it did have its complications as each of us, or rather each company brought differently proposals with different motives."
Hey, hey! Are you really going to talk about secrets like this and tell them about the whole process? The three managers got nervous.
"I feel that in honour of the orphanage and in light of the well-being of the children, I should reveal what the companies' intentions were and what vile and hidden secrets the representatives harboured, especially towards innocent children."
The managers' faces instantly paled. They only now realised why Yana would be so brazen to step on stage and hold a speech she wasn't prepared for. It was because she already did her research and dug out everything about them!
