"So, Mr Peter File how you doing?" Yana giggled and giggled and giggled. Her snicker enjoying his misfortune was heaven and hell in Luka's ears. His eyes twitched as he stared down at her. Yana was incredibly amused by his annoyance.
"You're not saying anything?" Yana's eyebrows wriggled while Luka had the incredible urge to use his fingers and straighten them.
"C'mon, Mr CEO, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. I mean there's no way the media will get to know about your identity as Mr Peter File."
In truth, Yana's brain already calculated how much money she'd make selling a story about Luka, the CEO of M.M, threatening children. It was bound to be a heavy sum. Maybe she could even twist the story a bit.
But then Yana shook her head. This was a bad idea. Teasing Luka in person was ok but the media would definitely rip him apart.
Even if Yana thought he was the devil, she didn't want to ruin his life, "I was just joking. I didn't mean it."
"I know," Luka made himself comfortable on the chair in Yana's office behind the desk while she sat on the guest chair. Seeing how he made himself home, even as the boss, her mood dampened a bit.
Luka caught it and it was his time to be amused, "Don't forget you're still working for me. The paycheck is way bigger than what you can get from these annoying news outlets."
"You always see through me so easily," Yana wasn't even surprised at this point. It was Luka who widened his eyes seeing how she actually said it out loud. Her pouting expression made him feel a bit restless.
Luka coughed. Maybe it was time to stop playing the evil CEO boss who makes his employee's life hell and just properly start to court her. After all, the two waited for 5 years and he wouldn't wait any longer.
"How's the project going?" Luka stirred the topic in a different direction but it turned out to be another pitfall. he was very pitiful at the moment.
Yana's glare stabbed him in his longing heart, "It's just renovating the orphanage. I don't understand why you had to make such a big project out of it!"
"Only the best for the kids."
"As if you care."
Luka felt bullets of sweat running down his body, "I already did as you said. I bought the land and you're in charge."
Luka wanted Yana to gain as much experience as possible and make a name for herself, so no one would question her if she stood by his side.
"You just want to make my life hell," Yana rolled her eyes.
The three managers wouldn't give up their aspirations for this piece of land so easily, Yana knew it. And they especially wouldn't listen to her obediently. Even if she was in charge and had Luka behind her, it was inevitable for them to cook something up.
"I'm just trying to help," Luka earnestly said but it was swatted away like a fly on his face by Yana's mocking smile. Luka noticed his wrongdoings.
No matter what he did now, he'd be an evil person in her mind. He should've approached things differently.
"Is that all?" Yana stood up, "Mr CEO should go back to work. I can hear Bao already sobbing outside the door."
It was true that since Yana and Luka entered the office, there were ominous wails of despair seeping in from the cracks of the door. Luka made a mental note of properly educating Bao.
But just as Yana said his name, Bao instantly barged in with a hopeful expression, "Yes, yes boss! Your schedule is packed, let's go!"
This jerk. He was actually eavesdropping!
While Yana was holding back her laughter, Luka sent Bao a glare, "Go and do what I've asked you of."
"You did? When? What? Where?" this incompetent assistant!
"I texted you, take care of it now and leave."
Already despaired out of his wits, Bao pitifully left the room. Once again he had to completely change the schedule.
Just thinking about the wrath of all prominent figures, Bao shuddered. These demands a lovestruck CEO made! Unbelievable! Think about others first, ok!
"Well then, I'll be going to," Yana gave Luka a last glance before he stopped her, "Yana, wait."
She turned to him and saw him coughing again. Did he have a cold? Throat problem? Yana scooted a bit away. Seeing this, Luka's confidence deflated but he was still hopeful, "Ahem. Did you have lunch yet?"
Yana looked at her watch, "Not yet."
"Then let's eat together," Luka looked out of the window when he said this but when Yana didn't answer he turned around and saw her disgusted look.
He jumped out of the chair with veins littering his forehead, "Why do you look as if I'm forcing you to eat shit?"
"Because you are shit."
"I'm not asking to eat me," but if you want you could.
Yana snorted, "So you don't even deny it."
"Dammit," Luka loosened his lie, "Just eat with me... Please."
"Please?" Yana stunned replied.
She didn't know why Luka suddenly suggested this but it was obvious he had some ulterior motives she needed figure out. Meanwhile, Luka was a bit frustrated. In the past, Yana would be the one dragging him to eat, not leaving out any chance to get food, so why-
Luka stared at Yana looking at her phone. He secretly sighed. The past couldn't become the present? No, Luka would pave a new future that was brighter than the past.
Yana didn't notice Luka's burning glare, instead, she looked at the news. Her mind travelled to Roy wondering how he and the others were doing.
The world has started to become a mess. How long could they hold out? Sooner or later it was time for them to make a move.
