Chapter 9 - Warm feelings...should be destroyed!!!

Bright sunshine hit his hair as fine dust danced around him. In oblivion, he sat on the bench basking in the bright day after uni had finally ended. His guards were let down and his innocence soon tainted.

Sly like a cat, as quiet as its paw on the ground, Yana snuck up on Luka. Once she was close enough for her lips to touch his ear, she purred in a mischievous tone, "Luka~"

As if lightning struck him and thunder growled him to his doom, Luka jumped on his seat ready to sprint away when Yana put her hand gently on his shoulders.

Then with a loud thud, she forced him back on the bench. His back hitting the hard wood.

He growled in pain while Yana thought that his muscles under her touch felt very nice. The line of his shoulders was straight and his muscles were strong yet soft at the same time.

Through the outline of his shirt, she could see his toned body underneath. Suddenly a slight heat evaporated in her body and she quickly let go of him.

"What do you want?" Luka held his face in his hand as through the gaps of his fingers he glared at Yana who jumped before him.

A hint of annoyance was present in his dark stare but at the same time, it pulled on Yana's heart. Luka's appearance was indeed dangerous. She should exert some moderation, fooling around with him would lead to some devastating discoveries.

Luka looked effortlessly handsome. He only wore a simple attire and didn't do anything with his hair but it only highlighted his exquisite features and manly body.

Indeed very devastating. Yana brushed these thoughts away and laughed, "You should be happy I'm gracing you!"

"Didn't I tell you I'll let you know? Before then, don't come find me anymore," Luka threw his head back and watched the sky while his hands were spread out on the back of the bench. Even the veins on his neck and his neckline were attractive.

"Now, we both know you're dying to see me," Yana grinned and fell on the bench next to him, involuntarily touching his hand with her back.

Luka's arm jerked slightly but he didn't pull away instead he stole glances at Yana. Her high nose highlighted her pair of bright eyes that were particularly eye-catching. Especially since every time they looked at someone, it seemed like they were holding the whole world.

Her slightly rosy cheeks with visible baby fat gave her the innocence that took away the seducing look her face overall exuded. Looking at this face Luka suddenly felt at a loss.

If anyone saw them here like this, they might misunderstand.

But the feeling Luka felt for Yana was clear. It was pure annoyance but also something else. Was it curiosity? That bound him to endure her presence?

Curious to see what she'd do next, how she was going to influence his life? All of a sudden Yana caught his gaze. Her gentle smile turned into a wide grin. All the slightly good feelings Luka managed to bring up instantly extinguished like a tiny flame of a candle in a storm.

"No," Luka decisively rejected anything she thought.

"You don't even know what I was-"

"I don't need to."

Yana felt slightly irritated but since she already told her friends she was going to bring someone, Luka had to suffer.

For Yana's reputation, the seclusion he put himself in had to be hammered open.

"C'mon it'll be fun."

"Anything that has to do with you, won't."

Yana jumped up and now stood in front of Luka. With her hands on each side of her waist, her figure was as high as Luka's sitting form, yet the confidence in her stare didn't diminish the slightest bit.

"Take it as returning me a favour."

Luka almost fell when he heard this shameless remake, "Shouldn't it be you who returns me the endless favours you own?"

"Sharing is caring."

"This doesn't eve-" before Luka could finish his sentence, Yana intertwined her hand with Luka's and pulled him off the bench.

Then she dragged him along with her. Luka was too stunned to say or do anything. All he could do was helplessly stare at the fragile back in front of him and feel the warmth of her hands seeping into his.

Even though the weather was merciless hot, the heat that emitted from their skin contact felt pleasantly comfortable.

This brazen and uncaring girl in front of him did as she pleased without any regards for his feelings.

Like a storm in the sandy desert, she raged into his life, whirled up all the sand to pile them as obstacles in his boring life.

Now he had to climb over each of these hurdles, slowly forcing himself to not walk in a straight line in this plain and vast desert anymore, he has been doing his whole life. He had to tackle life like any other person.

Just how blessed must Yana be to radiate like a ball of sunshine, to be as energetic, cheerful and careless as her in everything she did? With no worries or sorrows, faced with no obstacles and hardships?

If Yana could read Luka's thoughts, she would've laughed out loud. It was impossible for any person to not go through something.

The uni was in the centre of City M. In the buzzing mid of all entertainment places for students to enjoy themselves. The karaoke bar wasn't too far, so the walk towards there was quick and short.

Yana stopped in front of a place that looked like a party venue but the sign read 'CITY M'S BEST KARAOKE BAR.'

"No," Luka said again but let Yana pull him inside.

"It'll be fun. The others are already waiting."

"No," hearing this Luka instantly refused for the nth time. Yana stopped and watched his blank face, "Don't worry, I'm here with you. You can leave earlier if you want but if you never go out and meet people, how can you break out of your shell?"

Luka's impression of Yana rose before she noisily destroyed it again, "It's not like a good saint like me will come and help you all the time."

She laughed and praised herself while Luka felt the urge to roll her off the hill, seeing if she could still laugh until she hit the bottom.

But before Luka could escape, Yana opened the door to the karaoke room. A large space with a table full of snacks and drinks surrounded by a comfortable bench.

The dim lighting and the disco ball on the ceiling highlighted the big TV screen. Two females and two males sat on the benches, enthusiastically greeting Yana when their eyes fell on Luka.

"Guys, Luka's super fun," even though he wasn't, "Let's get along," even though he was probably just going to sulk in a corner.

For a second there was silence then one of the guys stood up and walked to Luka, "Hey man, never talked, how are you?"

The guy introduced himself and Luka followed suit.

Seeing Luka was seemingly harmless, they all welcomed him warmly. Yana turned with a smug to him indicating 'I told you didn't I?' before she grabbed a microphone hollering into it.

Luka's ears started to bleed while the others were used to it. The evening passed quickly and despite his refusal, Luka sang at least one song. His tone deaf voice was as equally bad as Yana's.

But what both of them didn't know was that against Luka's expectations, his eyes searched for hers more than once.
