(Kazu woke up. It was 6:30, the usual time he woke up for work. As a hero, you get no breaks, so everyday is a work day. When Kazu was in hero school his teacher would always say how crime never sleeps. Kazu never really believed that. Of course crime sleeps, but while that crime sleeps other crime takes its place, but either way it's hard to get a break. Kazu needed to do something to help his team out. Moral has been very low around here every since Kage showed back up. As leader, Kazu needs to fix it, and he thinks he has an idea.)
Reo: "Ugh, finally."
(Reo and Dai just got home from the night shift. A bunch of attempted robberies wore Reo out, but what especially made him tired was Dai's rules. Stuff like 'don't hit him so hard, we want him alive when we bring him back.' or 'Be careful on the rooftops, we don't need one of our own dying from a neck injury.' Reo was just happy to get home so he could sleep. He opened the door and ran right into a guy's chest. He looked up to see a blond, muscular guy looking down at him. He was wearing a white T-shirt, and jeans with brown boots on.)
???: "Ugh boss, is this one of Kazu's workers."
(Another guy that looked exactly like him walked over and looked at Reo.)
???: "Yeah, he works for Reo. Let him in."
(The man standing in the way of Reo moved out of the way to let him pass, but Reo was still kind of in shock. He thought maybe he was seeing things because he was so tired, so he looked back at Dai to make sure he saw the same thing, but Dai looked even more in shock. Reo looked forward again and saw Kazu talking with another guy, that looked exactly like the one in the door.)
Reo: "Kazu?"
(Kazu looked over to see Reo walking in. Reo looked angry and confused.)
Reo: "What the hell is going on here? Is this some fun house you're working on?"
Kazu: "Oh no, sorry Reo. I guess I should've called you and told you."
Reo; "I don't have a cell phone."
Kazu: "Oh, right. I should've called Dai then and told you both."
(Kazu pointed at the man he was standing next to. The man that looked like every man that was walking around the house.)
Kazu: "This is Mr. Clone. We've worked with each other in the past. He owes me a favor so I thought I'd cash it in."
Mr. Clone: "Haha, yeah, I remember that exact day too. This guy saved me from some evil psycho guy. I remember the entire thing."
Kazu: "Oh come on Clone. I don't think Reo wants to hear this."
Reo: "He's right I don't."
(Dai walked into the conversation.)
Dai: "I wanna hear it."
Mr. Clone: "Ok well here it is."
Reo: "Ugh."
Mr. Clone: "We were in Germany. Some guy was killing people. He had a spike core, so he could make spikes come out of objects around him. The core sounds weak, but trust me it was strong. I brought tons of clones to the battle, and many of them died. I myself almost died as well, but this guy saved me out there."
(He patted Kazu on the back.)
Mr. Clone: "Spikes were headed straight for me, but I wasn't fast enough to move. Then, a portal opened under me and I fell right in it. I teleported onto a roof right above where I almost died, and Kazu stood over me. He jumped off the roof and I heard lots of fighting for a while. Then after a little bit a portal opened in front of me and an unconscious guy fell out of it. It was the guy that tried to kill me, and then right after him Kazu stepped out. He was all beat up and bleeding, but he was still standing. After that I've owed him one for a while. "
Kazu: "Yes you have, and now it is time to cash it in."
Dai: "What did you cash it in for?"
Kazu: "Well I got us all a break."
Reo: "A break?"
Kazu: "Yeah, everyone has been working hard, and we haven't really gotten to sit down and
relax. So I've cashed in my favor so Mr. Clone can watch over the city while we take our break."
Reo: "Good, I'm super tired."
(Reo walked over to a chair and sat down. He closed his eyes and leaned back. He was comfy and could fall asleep right there and then, but he was awoken by the chair being flipped over with him in it. Reo jumped up fast and was pissed.)
Reo: "What the hell?!"
Kazu: "Sorry, just thought that would wake you up."
Reo: "I thought I was on break"
Kazu: "Well we are, but we aren't gonna sit around all day like we used to. We're going to this"
(Kazu handed him a flyer. Reo snatched it from him and read it aloud.)
Reo: "A beach party. Bring your friends and come on down to the beach so we can all have a beach lovin' good time."
(Reo looked up from the flyer at Kazu. Kazu was smiling at him giving him two thumbs up.)
Reo: "What the hell is this? I thought I was on break."
Kazu: "You are on break. We all are. This is a fun little thing for us all to do."
Reo: "Ugh, you're telling me that everyone wants to do this, or am I the first person you told. I'm pretty sure everyone else would rather stay home and rest than go to some beach."
Selene: "We're ready Kazu."
(Reo turned around to see his whole team walking down the stairs in swimsuits and caring water toys and sunscreen, with bags of stuff Reo couldn't see.)
Kazu: "You weren't the first person I told. Also, if you don't have a swim suit there are some spare ones in the laundry room. Find your size and come outside to the van."
Reo: "We have a van?"
Kazu: "I bought a van, and I paid for tickets to go the the beach party, so there is no turning back now bud. I'll see you outside."
(Kazu grabbed a bag and walked outside signaling everyone to follow. Dai went upstairs to change and Reo walked downstairs to the laundry room.)
(They were all in the van wearing their swimsuits. No one could really see each other's clothes because of all the bags. It was hard to see anyone at all to be honest.)
Reo: "What the hell did all of you pack?"
Sara: "I packed three bottles of sunscreen, three bottles of suntan lotion, three changes of swimsuits, two pairs of flip flops, one pair of swimming sandals, and-"
Reo: "It was a rhetorical question Sara. I don't really wanna know everything you have. All I wanna know is why do you have so much?"
Sara: "Oh, just in case."
Reo: "In case of what? In case you're out there for a year, cuz in that case you got me there."
Selene: "Woah Reo, you're in a grumpy mood. I thought you'd be happy we got a break."
Reo: "Shut up Selene. This might be a break to you, but I'm tired as hell and want to sleep."
Selene: "Well I mean still. Who doesn't like the beach?"
Taku: "I love the beach. A bunch of half naked babes just waiting for good ol' Taku to swoop in and pick them up off their feet."
Dai: "Yeah sure Taku. Then after you pick them up they'll call the cops and you'll be in jail for a bit."
Taku: "Ok, that only happened one time."
Ruri: "One time?!"
Dai: "Yeah, he thought it was a good idea to try and kiss this one girl he just met."
Taku: "She was giving off the signs that she wanted me."
Dai: "So when she says no and pushes you away is that the sign that she wants you to keep going. Cuz it looked like you thought it was."
Taku: "Shut up!"
Kazu: "Calm down. We're almost here."
(Yui looked out the window and saw that we passed the beach. Yui was confused and looked up back at Kazu.)
Yui: "Uh, Kazu. I think you just missed your turn."
Kazu: "Huh? Oh yeah. I didn't tell you guys."
Reo: "Tell us what?"
Kazu: "We're not going to the normal beach."
Selene: "Then where are we going?"
(Kazu stops the car in front of a large wall. It was a dead end.)
Reo: Did you get lost or something? Turn around, idiot."
Kazu: "Calm down. This isn't the normal beach."
Sara: "Oh I get it. It's a special beach for only heroes."
Kazu: "Eh, it's more of a special beach for only rich people."
Dai: "Oh, Is that why Reo has never heard of it."
Reo: "Shut up four eyes. Like you have been here before."
Dai: "Well maybe I have."
(Kazu turns to Reo.)
Kazu: "He hasn't"
(Kazu got out of the car. He was wearing purple swimming trunks and had on purple flip flops. Selene got out next. She was wearing a one piece and some sandals, both were blue. Taku walked out wearing a red speedo and some flip flops. Dai walked out in a green swimming shirt, some grey swim trunks and black water shoes. Sara walked out in a light blue two piece. She was also wearing light blue flip flops. Reo walked out in some dark blue trunks and some grey flip flops. Yui walked out in a purple two piece and some purple flip flops. Finally Ruri walked out in a grey one piece and some sandals. All were ready for the beach, but they still didn't know where it was.)
Reo: "Now where the hell is this place."
Kazu: "I told you it's a secret place."
(Kazu went up to the wall and opened a little hatch. There was a keypad there. He pressed a few buttons then the wall started to slowly open up.)
Taku: "Woah."
(It opened fully, so Kazu grabbed some bags and walked in.)
Kazu: "Come on guys. Grab a few bags and get in. I don't want our spot to get taken."
(Kazu continued to walk in. The rest kind of stared at the entrance, wondering if this is real. Reo was the first to enter.)
Reo: "Well if the spots are good, I'm not gonna let them get taken."
(He grabbed some bags and walked in. Sara did the same. Then Selene, then Ruri, then Yui, then Dai, and then Taku. They all walked up to see Kazu waiting at a door with a guy standing there.)
The guy: "Tickets, please."
Kazu: "Just gimme a second. I'm waiting on some people, and here they are. I thought you guys were right behind me."
Reo: "We had to stand there and think a minute of what just happened."
Kazu: "Ok, I guess that's fair. Well hurry up. I don't want to lose my seat again like last time."
(Kazu handed the guy all the tickets and walked through. They all followed him in. They walked through a long dark hallway. They all saw a light at the end. They kept walking until they hit the light, but it was hard to see at first. They were all blinded for a split second, but then once their eyes adjusted to the light, they all saw a beautiful beach, Unlike the normal one there was no trash on the ground or kids attacking people trying to enjoy the beach. It was amazing.)
Kazu: "Come on guys. There's no time for standing around. We gotta go to our spot."
(Kazu ran across the beach to find a seat.)
Reo: "It better be a good spot. I'm tired as hell and need a place to rest."
(Reo followed him and so did the rest. They were all looking around the beach as they followed. There were people walking around with drinks and people sitting in comfy looking chairs. They all looked rich, their team looked very out of place. They saw Kazu standing still. They walked and stood next to him and saw him staring at an old couple sitting in some expensive seats.)
Kazu: "Those bastards."
Selene: "What is it, Kazu?"
Kazu: "They stole my seats. I pay extra for those seats every time and they always get there first."
Taku: "Well if you paid for it why don't you just kick them out."
Kazu: "I pay for the section of seats. I have to get the seat before everyone else that paid for it, and they always get the last one."
(The old guy looked up and saw Kazu standing there.)
Old guy: "Hehe, looks like you're late again, Kazu. You snooze you loose, hehe."
(Kazu stared at the old guy angrily and then turned to his team.)
Kazu: "Ok, well here's what's going to happen today. You guys do what you want and i'm getting this seat back."
Reo: "Hey I'm helping you with getting those seats. I need to rest and those seats look very comfy."
Kazu: "Trust me, they are. Ok well you guys enjoy the rich beach, and try not to embarrass me here."
(Kazu looked at Taku.)
Taku: "What? I don't embarrass anyone."
Dai: "Sure. I'll watch him Kazu."
Kazu: "Thank you. Now Reo, let's get these seats."
Reo: "Alright."
(Everyone split up into their groups. Taku and Dai walked over to the ocean. Dai had a bag around his shoulder and pulled some sunscreen out and started to put it all over him.)
Taku: "Ew dude. Calm down with the sunscreen. You're gonna empty the bottle."
Dai: "Well I don't want a sunburn."
Taku: "Well do you have any more in your purse."
Dai: "My purse?"
Taku: "Yeah, the thing around your shoulder."
(Taku pointed to the bag.)
Dai: "That is not a purse. That is a bag."
Taku: "Yeah, and a purse is a bag."
Dai: "Shut up, Taku."
Taku: "Hey man, I'm not judging. You're allowed to wear a purse if you want."
Dai: "I'm going to kill you."
(Taku looked around while Dai covered himself in sunscreen. Taku saw a bunch of girls playing in the ocean and Taku started to smile.)
Taku: "Yo Dai, hot girls three o' clock."
Dai: "Huh? Oh, well stay away from them dude. I don't want Kazu getting in trouble cuz of you."
Taku: "That's like telling a fish not to swim. When a man sees a girl, he has to go over and get her or something."
(Taku started to walk over to the girls. He had confidence, he had the brains, he had the looks, at least he thought he had all those things. He walked up to the girls and decided to use the best pick up line he knew.)
Taku: "Hey ladies, are yo-"
Girl: "We're 15."
Taku: "Roger that."
(Taku turned around and started walking back to Dai. While Taku was getting rejected Ruri and Selene we're watching from a distance. Selene was laughing at Taku.)
Selene: "Hahaha, He got rejected fast."
Ruri: "Hehe yeah."
(Ruri was kind of looking more at Dai.)
Selene: "what you looking at, sis?"
Ruri: "Huh? Oh, nothing. Just the ocean."
Selene: "Oh ok. Yeah, the ocean is pretty here. Way prettier than the one back home, right?"
Ruri: "Yeah, Remember when Dad tried to teach you how to swim in the ocean and a shark attacked."
Selene: "Haha, oh yeah. I was so afraid I started splashing everywhere."
Ruri: "haha, yeah and Dad couldn't use his lighting or it would shock you all in the water."
Selene: "Yeah, Mom had to push us out with her wind. She really did save us that day."
Ruri: "Yeah, but it wasn't the last time she saved us."
Selene: "True, she was always there."
Ruri: "Always."
(They looked off into the ocean in silence for a bit. Selene decided that she needed to ask something she wanted to ask for a long time.)
Selene: "Hey Ruri, why do you always feel that you have to protect me."
(Ruri looked at Selene for a split second, then looked back at the ocean.)
Ruri: *sigh* "I don't know Selene. It's just, you're all I got. I've got no family left, no friends, no nothing."
(Selene looked at Ruri with soft eyes, but Ruri wouldn't look at Selene.)
Ruri: "Mom and Dad passed when we were so young, I felt I had to protect you. I didn't want to lose you too."
(Ruri looked over at Selene. Selene looked into her eyes and saw that they were shiny like she was about to cry. Selene knew Ruri had always been like a second mom to her, and she appreciated it very much. Selene stood up.)
Selene: "Come on, Ruri. Let's go get a bite to eat at the snack bar."
(Selene put her hand out. Ruri looked up at Selene. She smiled and grabbed her hand. She wiped her eyes and then stood up too. They both walked over to the snack bar to get a bite to eat.)
(Sara and Yui were playing in the ocean. Yui has heard Reo say before that Sara is pretty much a child. It wasn't like she has any mental issues or anything, but because of how she was raised, she is pretty much a little kid. Yui always didn't know if Reo was joking about this or if he was serious. Yui could always kind of believe this, but after hanging out with her today, she definitely believes it.)
Sara: "Hehe yaaaaaaaay."
(Sara was swimming around in a big pink flamingo floaty. Yui was starting to think Reo was right.)
Sara: "Come on, Yui. Don't you want to try it? I can give you a turn on it if you want."
Yui: "No thank you, Sara. You enjoy it."
Sara: "Well alright. Weeeee."
(Sara kept on floating around in it. Yui felt like she was babysitting. Yui could leave at any moment and do something she would like, but she felt bad leaving Sara all by herself. Sara is nice, but sometimes she can be dumb. After a few more minutes, Yui finally decided to do something else.)
Yui: "Hey Sara, I'm going to go get a drink at the bar."
Sara: "Ok, I'll be here."
(Yui walked over to the bar and took a seat at the stool. There only one other guy there and he looked like he was the drunkest guy there. He was arguing with the bartender who looked so afraid.)
Drunk guy: "O-order me *hic* somethin else bar keep *hic*."
Bartender: "I-I'm sorry, but I think I have to stop serving you."
Drunk guy: "*hic* W-wh-what? It's a-all you can *hic* dr-drink, and *hic* trust m-me I c-can drink a h-hell of a lot more *hic*."
(He chugged the rest of his drink after saying that and slammed his glass on the counter.)
Drunk guy: "F-fine. D-don't serve *hic* me. I'll g-get my dr-drink elsewhere *hic*."
(The drunk guy tried to stand but fell back into his stool. He looked over to Yui and started to smile.)
Drunk guy: "H-he-hey pretty lady, *hic*. C-c-can you b-buy me a drink *hic*. I'll make it w-worth your while *hic*."
Yui: "No thank you."
(Yui was slightly annoyed at this guy, but he couldn't take the hint.)
Drunk guy: "C-come on little l-lady. W-why you gotta b-be like that. *hic* I-I'm j-just trying to k-keep the party tr-train rolling. Toot toot."
(He was walking towards her as he said all this. You could tell he was drunk just by the way he walked. He finally got next to her and sat in the stool by her side.)
Drunk guy: "C-come on, he-help a g-guy out."
(He put his hand on her shoulder and she was about to snap.)
Yui: "Get your di-"
???: "Hey!"
(Yui was cut off by some voice behind her. She turned around to see a man walking over. He was in a blue suit and tie and had black hair slicked back. He wore blue dress pants and blue dress shoes. The suit was tight on him so you could see his muscle outline.)
???: "Ma'am, is this guy bothering you."
Yui: "Um."
(Yui was still in shock on how good this guy looked.)
Drunk guy: "N-no sir. W-we're perfectly f-fine. Psst I think he bought it, now we can get back to our agreement."
???: "Sir, I am still here and you are a terrible whisperer. I would also prefer to hear an answer from the lady."
Drunk guy: "Oh crap. Mama al-always told me to pr-practice my whispering. I-I'd always say, No m-mama, I'm g-gonna be rich. N-now look at me. I-I'm r-rich, but a-at what cost."
???: "The cost of whispering?
Drunk guy: "Exactly,*hic* w-whatever, I-I'll go to the b-bar down the s-street."
(The drunk guy got up and started to stumble out of the beach.)
???: "Sorry ma'am, he comes here every week harassing people. I'd kick him out, but he just went through a bad divorce. This is the only place he has."
(Yui was still staring at his body.)
???: "Ok? Well I guess I'll keep going around making sure everything is alright."
Yui: "O-oh wait, uh thank you."
(The man smiled at her.)
???: "No problem ma'am. Have a good day."
(The man started to walk away, but Yui still didn't want him to go.)
Yui: "Wait, I didn't get your name."
(The man turned around and started to walk towards her.)
???: "Oh right, I didn't introduce myself. I am Mr. Ritchie, owner of Ritchie beach, but you can call me Doru."
Yui: "Oh ok, Doru."
Doru: "Yep, that's me."
Yui: "Hehe, and did you say you own this place?"
Doru: "Yes I do, and now that I think about it, I don't think I've seen you around here before. What's your name?"
Yui: "Oh sorry, I'm Yui, Yui Kanno. I'm new here. I came with my friend Kazu Ito."
Doru: "Oh Kazu. Yes he did say he was coming with a big group. So where are all of you?"
Yui:" Oh uh yeah, we kind of split up a bunch. We all go on our separate adventures."
Doru: "Oh alright, well if you get too lonely I'm at the front desk if you need anything. Come over sometime and maybe we can talk or something."
(Doru walked away and Yui sat there with wide eyes.)
Yui: "Did he just…"
Bartender: "well technically he didn't ask you out or anything. So I wouldn't celebrate just yet."
(Yui turned around to the bartender.)
Yui: "Let me have this!"
(Kazu and Reo were thinking up a plan)
Reo: "Ok, I got one."
Kazu: "Ok, what is it?"
Reo: "We switch his pills out for sleeping pills when he's not looking. Then when he's knocked out we kick him out and take the seat for our own."
Kazu: "Uhhh, do you have the sleeping pills?"
Reo: "No, I thought you would have them."
Kazu: "Why would I have them?"
Reo: "So we can do the plan, duh."
Kazu: "I didn't know about the plan until now, Reo!"
Reo: "Well i'm sorry, it's hard to think of plans right now when I'm tired as hell!"
Kazu: *sigh* "Arguing isn't going to help us. We need to think of an actual plan."
Reo: "This 'so called break' is very stressful."
Kazu: "I know it is. This was supposed to be a break for me too you know."
Reo: "Yeah, whatever. I just need to sleep. Can't we just go find another seat to sleep on?"
Kazu: "I already told you. I paid extra for these types of seats. I will get what I paid for."
Reo: "Ugh, well let's kick them out. Using force."
Kazu: "If we do that he'll get kicked out."
Reo: "God, you're making more excuses than plans."
Kazu: *sigh* ""Well let me try asking them again."
(Kazu walked past Reo and went to the Old man.)
Kazu: "Hey, I feel like we got off on the wrong foot. I don't know if you know, but my name is
Kazu Ito, also known as-"
Old man: "The hero Portaru, yeah I know all about you, and you know what else I know."
Kazu: "What?"
Old man: "That I'm never leaving this seat."
Kazu: "Ugh, what did we do to you? Why are you being like this?"
Old man: "Hehheh, because I'm old. I don't get much excitement, but this is the most fun I get. Seeing you fail."
(Kazu stared at the old man. He was shocked to hear this old man say this, but he was also angry to hear this old man say this.)
Kazu: "Uh, um."
Old Man: "Yeah, continue your uhs and ums. I'll just be busy enjoying this seat."
(The old man got comfy and Kazu turned around and walked back to Reo.)
Reo: "DId you get the seat?"
(Kazu looked at Reo.)
Kazu: "This old guy is going down."
