"Rice cakes? Of course, how many do you want, young man?" the vendor asked with a smile.
The young man in front of him raised two fingers.
"Alright, two it is then." the vendor nodded.
Then, he swiftly packed the order, wrapping it inside a piece of cloth before handing it to the young man. The latter took it, smiling politely at the vendor.
He was handsome. The pair of sword-shaped eyebrows, together with his narrow eyes gave him a very sharp and rather cold appearance. But the slight curve at the corner of his lips thawed his expression, making his demeanor seem less icy. Yet, in spite of all that, something seemed to be wrong with his eyes.
The young man's black pupils were blank. Just like the surface of a black, stale water, his eyes didn't seem to reflect the light. He also didn't seem to follow the vendor's movements, as though he couldn't see them at all.
