Chapter 7 - Day 6 -

It's my sixth morning in the new world, when I look out the window, a clear morning opens for me.

All I remember is we have a job now that involves wood, maybe we'll cut wood. I remember once seeing Jess carries wood, and he was just carrying the woods in his hands while it was tied using the vine.

So I thought of getting more wood so we could make a small wagon.

When I had a plan, I immediately got up, made the bed and left the room. I went to the kitchen to wash my face. There I also saw leave again.

"nag sapa ka mutten"

Her voice was very calm, as if angels were caressing you, but I couldn't understand it.

"Haan maawatam?"

I think she wanted to talk to me, but I did not understand what her words meant. So I shook my head while smiling.

"imbag ag igat"

I just greet her a good morning, because I knew only a few words. Then I smiled at the same time.

"tsk tsk tsk, na-im-bag nga bi-gat"

Because maybe when I mentioned it wrong, she corrected it immediately.

"naimbag nga bigat" (good morning)

I repeated the word she had said. Now that I know, I'm comfortable being able to greet the people here in the morning. Leafe smiles at me while gesturing 'thumbs up'.

Little by little I am learning new words, later, while I am waiting for Jess, I want to listen to the child's teacher again for a while so I can learn again.

Again, I helped prepare the morning meal with Leafe. At the same time the children also arrived, we ate breakfast.

We were about to finish eating breakfast when Jess suddenly came with maria carrying a paper and two axes.

While they were eating breakfast, Jess approached me to show me the paper with the image of the tree.

"sika, siak, maria"

I couldn't even understand what he was saying, but he pointed at me, himself and maria who has been just next to him.

"inttan!" (lets go)

also a word I learned because Jess always mentioned it.

They smiled when they heard me speak their language. So am I because little by little we have come to understand. We hurried to eat breakfast and we immediately went to a shop.

Entering the store, Jess showed the salesman the paper with the picture of the wood. He showed the salesman another small piece of paper, and he handed over some small copper coins.

The salesman gave him some equipment such as rope, bread, sharpener and a small piece of paper on which the map was etched to the source of the wood.

Maria also approached the seller and handed her a piece of paper with a picture of the plant.

After picking up the tools and items, we walked further south of town.

While walking, Jess divided the rations among the three of us. Of the four loaves, Jess and I had one loaf each and maria had two. Jess and I each have a sharpener. Maria is holding the map.

While walking, the two were talking happily, even if I wanted to join their conversation, I still couldn't understand them.

When we found the right tree, Jess and I started sharpening our axes, while maria was picking fruit and some grass.

After I had cut down some trees, I noticed that it was difficult for my ax to cut down trees. Even though I was not yet feeling tired, my blow seemed to have no strength left. and though I sharpen my ax, it still does not cut

so I ate bread to see if it would give me strength.

...

...

...

...

...

...

After a little rest, I went back to cutting down the tree. And on my first blow, it was much stronger than before. I can't even feel tired, but my strength is weakening so I also have to eat.

Weird.

...

...

...

And after we cut down five trees each. I looked for a small tree that I could cut down to make a small wagon.

But because I didn't have enough tools, I just took the wood home temporarily while looking for other things to make a small wagon

Then we collected the wood and tied it with vines.

And since our work here was done, we walked back to the town of Merauth while eating fruit.

When we got back to town, we went straight to the salesman we had gone to earlier to hand over the wood and get our reward.

After the salesman counted the wood we were carrying, our group got 50 small copper coins, Jess divided it between the two of us. I got 25 small copper coins. Maria also gave her plant to the salesman and she also got her payment.

I looked at his wares and ventured to find materials that I could use. Until I saw something half hammer and half pickaxe, flat on one side, but sharp on the other end. I can use it to make a small wagon.

I just looked at what was written near the hammer, but I couldn't read what the name was or how much it was.

I also looked at the papers posted on the wall, I saw that there was a paper with a picture of the stones.

"wen, bigat attan"

While I was looking at the paper Jess suddenly spoke, even though I didn't understand what he said, I saw that he and maria was leaving the store so I just followed them out.

Again, we went back to the orphanage, and they talked to each other. On the other side, I saw the children listening to the teacher. Because I didn't understand them either, I just approached the children and listened to the teacher.

From the teachers taught yesterday, only half of their letters I remember.

I listened to the teacher again, not because she was cute, but to learn their word immediately.

a long time also passed while I was listening to the cute teacher, to this day, I have memorized the letters of their alphabet and the numbers. But I noticed that children have difficulty learning due to lack of materials such as paper and pencil.

And as someone who has lived a civilized life, maybe I can help them. I can start with simple things like paper, pencils and even farming tools.

And while I was daydreaming, I noticed that maria seemed to be crying while talking to Jess. And it looks like the teacher is also done teaching, so I immediately approached maria and Jess.

And when I got close, I immediately understood what was sad, and that was that I could not understand what she was crying about.

Even if I wanted to know what her condition was, I couldn't. That's because I still can't form a sentence using their words.

So I looked at the people around maria. Maybe someone will say what happened even though I know I don't understand what the story is.

And suddenly Jess came up to me and immediately showed me a picture of an animal that looked like a frog, and he immediately signaled that it had to be killed.

"bigat , partyon" -said Jess

And if I'm not mistaken, based on the teacher's teaching. That means 'tomorrow, kill.'

does this mean we have to kill the frog? Very easy thing. and the word 'yes' to them is

"wun"

Jess nodded when I said that, but there was still sadness on her face because Maria was still crying.

While Maria was crying, Leafe came to invite us to have dinner. Jess supports maria as she walks towards the inside of the house. I just noticed, but Jess seems to like maria. I just let them go, and I immediately went straight inside the house.

When I entered the house, I helped serve the food. Maria and the other women cleaned the dining room. Jess and other men helped set the tables and chairs.

When I entered the house, I helped serve the food. Maria and the other women cleaned the dining room. Jess and other men helped set the tables and chairs.

We peacefully ate our dinner while talking to each other. Different stories, different topics. Although I don't understand the conversations, I'm happy that we're happy to eat together. We shared some bread, fruit, vegetables, some meat.

After eating, I again helped clean the dishes, then washed my face, and immediately went straight to my room.

In my room, here are some tools and materials I have collected from the work I do. I have some leaves that can be used for string, some wood. The only thing missing was the hammer I had seen earlier in the store.

I put the materials I got in a small chest and I lay down on my bed. I still don't have enough tools so I can't make any tools yet.

Let's go to sleep for now.
