Chapter 9 - Chapter #009- The Blazing Visit

It felt like I was being in a strange set of odd accommodation. A state of the urge to sleep, a slumber long enough to last me the entire night. The sun blaring into my eyes as its flares brightened everywhere. It yearned me to hide in the bask of darkness.

Even with my advanced technologies to help ease me out in certain situations, extreme weather isn't one of them. I felt like I was breathing not air, but, sand, tons of them. Maybe, that's why I felt an urge to cough and wheeze.

But in the end, with the support of a few odd-shaped figures and my only little flask of liquid to wet my tongue. There I was laying on the back of a moving giant spider, with the body of a motherly and feminine peak of beauty and a bum, no, a web sac which skitter-scattered in the sandy dunes of the deep North-Side.

"How much more?!" I moaned as I drooled on the map that I was laying on as an alternate mat for a pillow. Most of my silly crew giggling away as they ignored my cries, the only one to answer was the honourable and respectful knight of the East-Side, Princess Fusui.

Sniffing about as she rubbed her itchy human nose, her so-called snout picked up a nearby scent which gave a direction of their destination. "Alright, a few more kilometres, I suppose." As she sulked it in regards to my baby-like calls, she shrugs as she felt humid under her heavy and sturdy chest plate and knee-plates that she donned under her full set of Royal Armour.

Glad that someone answered my call, I stayed quiet, satisfied with my attention-getting, as I continued laying about on the buttocks of the strange arachnid creature.

For some reason, it felt soft even with its bone-like hard shell as protection. She knew I was being curious yet she gave no negative call as if she didn't mind being disturbed by this random kid she decided to trust for some damn mission.

I feel the pulsating pressure and echoes from within, a hold of strange hollow yet a wet like squish, the sacs that hold the web and the empty sac that holds these balls of the white stuff.

Obviously, as human as I can be, I tapped on it with the bare strength of my knuckles, however, no reply was returned, not even knocking sounds. With that, Aria, the keeper of this sac decided to twist her head to the strange behaviour of mine as she cradled her adopted child under her arms for cooling.

"Boy, are you a little too curious? I assume so as you are being a little naughty behind there with your little tickles." Speaking in a rather mature yet joking tone. She teased me for my strange behaviour as I immediately stopped my inspection and rubbing.

"It's fine to be inspecting me as a human tendency to be quite curious of us monsters bodies, but if you want to do those sort of "things" it's best to keep it in private. Also not in this environment."

Somehow being able to keep her cool, she continued her scatter as she followed up the others who then decided to take a break by a small cliffside that held a small resting spot made out of twigs and dried leaves for a roof.

An old man sat there, smoking on a pipe as his wive chewed on a strange leaf composed of powdery substances. Somehow not afraid of their new visitors, they smiled at the newfound faces as they greeted them with a gesture of a wave.

"Ah, visitors, been ages since we last saw one. Come take a seat and rest, would you like some food or drinks?" A little too excited to see their guests, the old man charmingly asked the crew to sit down as he gets up and stumbles his way to his next-door kitchen which acted more of a storage room filled with herbs, bottled liquids and other commodities in a kitchen.

As the old woman noticed my strange sleeping position on the arachnid, she laughs softly as she points to me who was reluctant to wake up due to the loss of energy and dehydration.

"That boy doesn't look so good, does he need medicine?" The old lady asks kindly as the Arachnid smiled cheekily as she held a finger to her lips to mute her laughter.

"He may need some water, he fainted because he decided to take along less of a fill of his flask." Princess Fushi plays a fool with me as she snarls towards the old lady in a childish yet playful way.

Placing her sword on the mat in front of her, she stretches her legs before squatting down for a seat. Her tails folding her bum gave a sense of softness to her painful position as it acted as a pillow. Lucky her, I wish I had a fluffy tail.

Whereas, the old man returns with a tray of warm red-coloured tea which smelled bitterly strong yet tasted harshly sweet. "Blergh", I felt as I licked on it with my raised chin using the small front of my tongue. Not to my taste, but it had to suffice.

"You must be adventurers, dear girls." The old man asked as he puts on his pair of glasses, with a gleeful smile, his crooked teeth show as small black dots were splattered across his gums. A sign of elderly to the max.

"Hahaha, that guy looks like he hadn't drunk for ages. Poor boy, I use to be like that too when I first grew up as a kid. Lazing about by my mother's hand as I stumble about asking for water constantly."

Interesting enough, and not too much to a surprise, the girls laughed at his joke. Making me a little embarrassed, The brown-haired cat-girl Nia pats my head pitifully as she smirks at me with her small-slit eyes which widened with her venomous stare.

I felt as if I was the one being the dominated one from the others even though I make the call-outs, how cruel, I say to myself softly.

As Nia then pulls out the map which I chinned myself on, I felt a slight thump on my cheek, as the paper was then folded and handed over to the old man. I felt slightly full from the liquid and was a little sleepy, so I dropped off for a nap.

I suppose the caffeine in the tea leaves did its trick and calmed me down fully, the only I think I remember was the sound of Nia meowing up questions in mumbles towards the old man for certain directions.

While I was snoring away, I then felt light for a moment as a sound of rhythmic thumps could be heard constantly. Its vibrations soft yet steadily constant, it was probably the arachnid walking towards the designated direction that was given by the old man during my lay as a sound of a conversation was being slightly heard of from a short distance.

"Ahh, damn. Not again, Miss Kisuen." Nia grudges as she shakes the flask of alcohol she had kept by her waist belt. "Don't smile at me like that, I know you drank it when I wasn't looking."

Pestering the drunkard Yoko who was playfully stumbling about in her Yukata spotted with pink and yellow patterns, she moved like a crab from left to right in repeat as she laughs softly in a teasingly way.

"It was just a little sip, I swear." Burping softly, she covers her mouth with her palm as she excuses herself in her native language of Easanda, in your case, reader, Edo-period Dialect Japanese.

"Oh, shit. Well, I suppose we know who to banish from drinking later in the bar." Princess Fusui winks to Nia as her tails swiped left and right as she grinned cheekily yet quietly.

"Bar, no one told me we will visit the bar?" The word itself sparked sober anxiety into the Yoko as she made a serious shocked face. "Please, I beg of you let me go."

Dignity out of the bag, she begged as she suddenly knelt, causing the whole crew to halt their tiring journey as they neared an oasis that held their destination behind.

"Well, it's too late for that. You drank my flask of alcohol without permission, so that's what you get. I bet even Ryuu would accept the punishment that will inflict on you."

As Nia chuckles and Fusui shakes her head in disbelief, she continues her strut as she waited for the waiting folks to continue their walk.

"No, please. I want a drink... I want to taste the North-Side mead. Did we come all this way for no testing? Ryuu, you understand right? Please wake up, tell the girls to give me a chance!" As she crawled towards my sleeping body and started shaking my "corpse", I felt a sudden shake of disturbance in my slumber as I opened my eyes immediately, a sense of concussion and dizziness struck my head as I see my sight moving from left to right quickly.

Gaining my energy and strength once more, I held onto the two arms of the disturber as I stared her straight into her brown-coloured eyes. "What the fuck you want?! I was trying to sleep!" Suddenly angered out of sheer adrenaline, I screamed at the poor adult Yoko as her ears folded as she made a sad look.

"Sorry! It is just that... it's just that..." She mutters softly as she realizes my looks of anger.

Quieting down realizing she was being overpowered, she suddenly took off like an Olympic Gold-Medalist sprinter as she heads to keep up with the princess.

The adopted child of Aria crying, the mother relaxed it off as she shushes me and the baby with a lovely smile. "There there, it is fine. Mother is here..."

She whispered into her child's ear as she looks at me and nods respectively before continuing her walk.

Assisted by Nia. I got up from my sandy mess, as I flake off the dust from my lab coat as I walk along with the munchkin. "What the heck was that all about?" I asked as my chip recorded and saved the entire strange side-event into my head.

As I calculated it with the probabilities in mind, it was an event that happened quite barely and had the chance of happening by 10%, an event that happens in this timeline for some reason and I was able to see it.

"Kissen drank up my alcohol I poured out from the barrel during our beginning journey. And when Fusui brought out about the bar we will visit later, she started going into a fit and acted childishly Then yeah, you know what happened." Nia sighs as she smiles and pokes her little incisor fangs out.

"Eh, it's fine. You want a refill?" I asked as I point my watch towards the flask, indicating to Nia that I will use my time powers from my watch to reverse its drying process.

"Hmm, it's alright. I was thinking of refilling it with North-Side's alcohol. I suppose it's fine for now, Water is enough for now."

Nia shrugs it off as she held onto my left hand in a rather cheeky yet warmly way. As she purred as I pat her fluffy curls of hair, her pointy ears followed as it flicked left and right as rubs her cheeks onto my shoulder.

Seeing the oasis in front of us, we see a big wooden sign in front of us as it was adorned in white paint and fake golden knobs.

As a painted sign was written, "Aurum", the land of gold, North-side's famous town of trading and robbery, great.
