Chapter 2 - ~ inconsolable ~

Willow's P.O.V

I fall with my dagger in my eye. I scream in pain as blood goes down my face . . . my blood, that throw was with a lot of force and anger. I take the dagger out, and my eye is attached to it; blood drips down the blade onto my hand, I try and flap my wings, but they feel heavy like chains are wrapped around them.

I hit the ground. I hear a loud crack; try and move my wings. Hey, don't budge. I sit up and touch them. It falls I shake in terror of what might happen to them or me . . .

"Captain Willow, are you okay?" Dewie asks.

I look up at him, and he's shocked to see me without an eye with my wings broken. I gulp and turn to look the other way.

"Don't look at me like that, officer Dewie?" I say in displeasure.

He reaches out his hand for me to grab it. I slap his hand away and get myself up, despite my back being in pain, and my wings are broken. I stumble, and Dewie catches me; I look up at him and give a small smile of regret.

"They're broken. . . both of them, I can't fly," I murmur.

My wings drag on the ground getting dirt all over my feathers. Once it was so beautiful, but now broken and filthy, two other guards come they look down at me in disgust.

"What happened out there?" They both asked.

"That bitch fucking threw my dagger at me! I'm missing a fucking eye," I yell.

As we slowly walk back to the prison, I feel eyes glancing at me well; I walk with them.

~

When we finally make it, a bunch of nurses rushes towards me with a wheeled stretcher.

"Captain, we'll need you to lay on your stomach," the nurse welgberge says.

I whimper and lay on my stomach. I hear whispers about me about my wings and now missing eye before I could listen to the rest of it. I get rolled away and put into a private room; I groan and wait for the doctor to come or anyone to come.

Time passes, and I start to feel light-headed. I touch my now dried-up blood on my face. I scratch at it out of boredom.

A knock to the door, and I look over my shoulder, giving a glare; I see my commander's arms crossed head high, him looking down at me.

"Captain Willow," commanderder growled.

I force myself up and hiss at the pain.

"Yes, sir," I roar.

He walks near me in disgust, his footsteps loud against the wooden floor.

"When you are healed, and stable enough our major would like to talk to you about some stuff," Commander says sternly.

He walks off; I lay back down on my stomach, close my eyes and fall into a deep sleep.

~

I wake up to beeping in this hospital room; my wings wrapped up. I moan and sit up. I rub my head in frustration.

I see my right-hand man in the chair sleeping uncomfortably; I yawned and stretched out my arms.

"I wouldn't spread out your arms fully. Your scars might break open," Marsh says quietly.

I bite my lower lip and nod my head; Marsh gets up and arches his back well, rubbing his neck.

"You could've come in the morning Marsh" I angrily say.

"And who's in the condition to fight back?" Marsh questions.

"You," I sigh.

He walks around the hospital bed and stands in front of m,e looking down, grinning. He places both of his hands on my shoulders and digs his nails into me; I cringe.

"You're better than this," Marsh says, concerned.

"I know, I know," I say wry.

He lets go, and I sigh in relief; I look down at my arm only to release at a needle, giving me some medicine that won't work so well with my body.

I rip it out, and blood trails down, I slowly get up, and my back hurts from moving.

Marsh grabs a rag and walks over to me. He places the rag on top of the small cut on my body and puts pressure on it, closing my eyes well, hissing in pain, trying to remember the time we've consistently helped each other during training.

* Flashback *

An arrow gets shot at me as I'm running through the forest, Marsh by my side, Letting out vast breaths of exhaustion. The hand is shooting through my shoulder, completely missing my wings, falling onto the ground as another arrow is getting aimed at me; pulling it out well, screaming in pain, I toss it to the side. I am rolling over as the hand misses me and goes into the ground getting back up and running him before I get eliminated.

* Flashback over *

"I can do this," I mumble.

He takes the rag off and looks down at me, giving a slight glare, looking up at him, waiting for him to say something.

"how long will it take for your wings to heal?" Marsh questions.

Standing up and reaching over to the bar to steady my balance, I let out a sigh and close my eyes.

"I don't need them to heal; I can go to our next meeting," I say cold.

"Well, our next meeting is in two days; I hope you're ready for some backlash on how you let three prisoners escape," Marsh says furiously.

He leaves the room well, giving a small wave goodbye. Taking a few steps forward, getting close to the wall stumbling a little using my eyes, hoping a nurse doesn't walk by, hearing a Cart coming. Opening my eyes to see the nurse slowly walking by, staring at me with worry, giving a grin, I walk closer to her.

"Ma'am, these medications don't work in m.. heal me in a teasing tone.

She lets go of the dark and presses a button in her hip. An alarm goes off; it's loud and makes my ears ring, shaking my head and stumbling back only to fall into my butt.

"WE HAVE A RUNNER! WE HAVE A RUNNER!" The nurse yells.

I was becoming dizzy, seeing four guards running into my room, picking me to and carrying me back to my bed, and strapping me down.

"I-I'm c-completely Fifine stutter.

***

Blinking my eye as the light of the room wakes me up. Looking at my wrist, feeling the metal tight around my wrist.

"I'M NOT TRYING TO FUCKING RUN AWAY! I NEED TO GET MY NEXT MEETING!" I yell.

the door clicks open, and looking over to see lieutenant Valdez frowning and looking away, raised.

"Captain Willow," Valdez says, concerned

"Yes, sir," I reply.

"I've come here personally to ask how the three hazardous people escaped?" Valdez growls.

Staying quiet and not giving a response.

"Even I don't know that, sir?" I question.

He hums and paces around the small room.

"So, you couldn't chase after them even if you're missing an eye?" Valdez asks.

I was shaking my head.

"The knife went in so deep that it caused a nerve in my brain to cause my wings to stop working, Lieutenant Valdez; I ended up falling and breaking my wings; they'll heal in no time . . . three days at most? After I can chase the three prisoners . . . they shouldn't be that far? it's as if they have anyone to help them out?" I say solid.

He stops pacing and walks over to my left and touches to metal, causing it to melt but keeps the metal around my wrist. Hee leans forward and does the exact something; he stands straight and looks down at me, well frown and turning my back to him and standing up.

"The Whites Lieutenant said they saw the queen of Jabawakey's fly over them? I told them she didn't visit us . . . So that no-good shifter Justice has his powers, I thought we put a chip in him? Guess he found it and cut himself and took it out, then just carried it in his pocket, I'm guessing? If he takes out the other two, we'll have to inform the Whites that there are three highly criminals out there freely doing whatever they please?" Valdez says, concerned.

I was letting out a sigh and facing him well, picking at my nails.

"Let's leave this place, and I can search about them. What's their weakness," I say, bored.

***

We walk out of the hospital room and walk down the hallway; nurses look at me well, frowning but didn't say anything when they saw the Lieutenant on my right. Grinning, we'll be walking distance by, not caring at the moment, knowing I'll suffer the consequences later.

"Sir, what if my wings don't heal? What if they are broken forever? What about my other abilities?" I quietly question.

No response looking to my right to see him on his electoral tube sending messages and rolling my eyes only to think where I put mine?

"Maybe it's on my bed, and I forgot to bring it with me?" I think to myself.

As we keep walking down the long hallway, I look down feel to rely on I'm barefoot and still wearing the Hospital gown, letting out another sigh well shaking my head.

"Sit. What happened to my clothes?" I ask.

Looking back at him, and he looks up this time.

"Oh, the Doctors had to cut them up well, give you a new one, s okay," Valdez says, Disappointed.

"YOU GUYS CAN'T GET ME NEW ONES THAT WAS ESPECIALLY MADE FROM MY TRIBE!" I angrily say.

"Captain Willow, don't raise your voice at me," Valdez says strictly.

Glaring at him and picking up the pace wanting to leave this damn place for wrecking the only thing I have left of my tribe. He grabs me by my wrist and pulls me back, and makes me face him, pulling my wrist away from him and sticking up the middle finger at him.

"Fuck everyone in this place," I mumble.

I was taking a turn to see a doctor.

"Yo, I need an eye patch. Can you get me one?" I ask.

He looks up from his electoral tube.

"Grace?" he says softly.

Looking closely at his face only to see it, Ryder shakes his headlands. My hand is walking into an empty room.

"what the fuck happened to your wings? and you're missing an eye," Ryder asks.

He was looking down well, feeling more embarrassed because he sees me in this condition.

"Please don't tell my Dad . . . he'll take everything I worked so hard for to get this far," I say, scared.

He shakes his head and points at my wings.

"Our traditional way in our coulter, if our wings break and aren't working, we go back and get them chopped off, remember?" Ryder says

"I know, I know," I mumble.

"Let me get you a cup of water," Ryder lousy.

He turns around and starts to make his way to the door; watching him walk away, I stare at his bareback, a Wing-less man, he leaves the room, and I'm left alone. Shaking my head, hoping he can find out a way to fix my wings without taking them off my back for good, covering my eye that's missing and looking down as a tear starts to build up, wiping my eye, not wanting to cry . . . Sitting up straight and pushing my emotions deep down remembering my teachings.

"You're stronger than your emotions, Willow," I mumble.

Looking at the door seeing someone stand there, the handle turn, and the door opens. The lieutenant walks in, and his arms are crossed. He glares down at me, well, shaking his head, giving a smile and shrugging, not caring what he'll say.

"Willow, you shouldn't walk away from me when I'm talking to you," Valdez says, annoyed.

A knock on the door gets both of our attention; Valdez turns around and sees Ryder. He lifts the cup of water in the air, well looking over Valdez's shoulder.

"Got you the water, Grace," Ryder says calmly.

He walks around him and reaches out to hand me the cup; I grab it from his hand, and my fingers caressed his fingers lightly, and he drops the cup, taking a step back, bumping into Valdez.

"Sorry, captain Willow," Ryder says, shocked.

Frowning at him, then turning my head in embarrassment, touching my cheek, knowing I'm blushing at what I just did.

"I'll get you another cup," Ryder says softly.

Sitting in silence, I let out a loud sigh.

"Do you two know each other?" Valdez asks.

He turns around, hands in his pockets as he tilts his head to the side, taking a glance at him and placing my hand on my thigh.

"I knew him before I worked with the White's and became a Captain at the jail," I say cold.

Standing up and trying to look at my wings, rolling my shoulders as pain shoots throughout my back.

"Fuck" I think to myself.

Hissing in pain and stumbling back, catching myself as I placed my hand on the chair handle, eggs become weak as they start to shake.

"Sir, did you read my file when I first joined?" I question.

"Yes, I think I read like half? There was a lot to read, so I put it back and didn't bother . . . That's also the day when we caught Drean the princes of the other realm," Valdez says, outraged.

He walks over to me and reaches his hand out to take hold of it, placing my hand on his, and he helps me stand up properly. An alarm goes throughout the hospital, and someone on the speaker says something.

"Patient 405 has left her room, lock down the Hospital till someone finds her. there was no tracking device put in her, take no hesitation what so ever" the nurse says calmly.

Turning my head and looking at the wall as it creeks, and a laser beam in hundreds of squares cover the window, looking out and seeing a foot and someone climbing down outside.

"Sir, it's that girl that escaped her room," I say, shocked.

"She must have a death wish," Valdez laughs.

I was turning around and looking at him well, shaking my head.

"Sir, that's fucked up; we need to go tell them she's outside," I say harshly.

He rolls his eyes and pulls out his electoral to, be and opens it; the screen goes static and goes out and turns black. He sighs and pulls, lifts his sleeve and presses a button on his wrist. A piece of metal opens, and inside it glows cyan, his index finger opens up, and a small electric bar comes out. It burns white and starts to fix itself. Tilting my head well watching him, I lick my lips and gulp, a knock on the door, and Ryder is standing behind Valdez.

"Got you another one, Willow," Ryder says miserably.

Taking a glance up at him, then looking back at Valdez, as he fox's his wrist buzzes, and electrical sparks shoot off him.

"This hospital has got the new stuff in Willow," Valdez says, stressed.

"She's outside," Ryder says, shocked.

Turning around and looking at the girl, her eyes wide entirely in shock, she slips and screams.

"Got it," Valdez says excitedly.

Hearing beeps behind me and electric noise, I cringe well, closing my eyes. Getting pushed to the side, I stumble seeing Valdez go to the window; he uses his fingers, breaking the lazer apart. It buzzes and goes static, slowly going apart. The laser is gone within a few seconds.

"I've broken it, Willow, now you could go get her," Valdez says, annoyed.

Taking a few steps to the window and wind blows my hair, looking over the edge to see the girl holding onto bricks, we make eye contact and see she looks scared.

"I'll help you back up . . . It would help if you let go one of your hands and take hold of mine," I say, terrified.

She glares at me and shakes her head.

"I'D RATHER DIE THAN GET MY LEGS AND ARMS CHOPPED OFF AND BE TURNED INTO A FUCKING ROBOT GUARD," she screams with anger.

I look ahead and frown, seeing Marsh, who brings a smile to my face. I whistle, and he turns around sees the girl that's right below me, hanging for her life and me. He hovers in the air, and his body turns pure white as his clothes burn off of him get gets closer to use and the girl, he touches the girl's waist holds onto her, she screams in pain as tears start to go down her cheeks he lifts her into the room and places her down. Looking at him in the eyes, the Violet colour shines with a hint of grey in-between, he backs up and turns around, and a beeping noise goes off on his wrist. He flies off quickly, leaving two lines of violet; I frown and tilt my head to the right, wondering what was so important.

"Ma'am, you cannot escape. You've used magic that's forbidden in the land," Ryder says strictly.

Turning around and looking him in the eyes in complete shock, then looking back at the girl as she softly sobs away.

"I didn't mean too it wasn't even my magic someone put magic in me," she cried.

Taking a step back only to see Valdez look up at the girl as he grabs her by the neck and lifts her in the air, causing her to choke.

"Valdez, we need her alive so she can explain what happened," I scream.

I place both of my hands on his arm and look at him in fear. He turns his head and looks at me, letting the girl go. She coughs and gasps for air. I grab the water from Ryder and give her the cup; she takes it and drinks it slowly.

"I'll bring her to a room and let her rest," Ryder says, scared.

He walks around Valdez and reaches a hand out for her to grab. She takes it and gets up; the two of them walk out of the room, and I look back at Valdez.

"Someone put magic in her?" I question softly.
