Chapter 63
'I must get my hands on moon stone and Clefairy!'
That was the initial conclusion that he had made after thinking it all thoroughly. There was no way for him to get his hands on a Clefairy and moon stone if he let go his chance here.
Although he can find Clefairy on the black market, the price would be way above what he can pay.
As for the moon stone, he didn't even know how to get one. They were really special evolutionary stones and it was almost impossible for a common trainer to get his hands on even a shard of a moon stone without having great connections.
If he really decided to buy these two things, he would have to sell his home in Pallet town and maybe some of his organs.
Arthur obviously didn't have a choice.
That's why he planned to infiltrate the temporary base that Team Rocket had made on Mount moon.
His plan was to get the information about Clefairy tribe and the moon stone.
According to what Soros had told him, Team Rocket hadn't found the true location of the Clefairy tribe yet, but they had already found traces of them.
Arthur just needed to get that information.
For that, he already had thought of something.
He had heard from Soros and the other two grunts that the security of Team Rocket's base here was lackluster and the grunts often didn't take their job seriously.
Their mission was just to report back to the HQ after finding the location of the Clefairy tribe and no one wandered around in these parts of Mount moon.
At most, they just need to deal with some wild rock Pokemon or Zubats.
That's why, the guards take their job in a relaxed manner and it was really easy to infiltrate them.
"This uniform is really tight..."
Arthur frowned as he put on the grunt outfit that he had taken from Soros. The size of the uniform didn't fit him well and it was hard to move around in it.
It was only after a while that Arthur got familiar with wearing it.
Aside from that, he also put on a black face mask that he had found in Soros's pocket. With that, there was hardly any chance of anyone doubting his identity.
Soros had told him that all the grunts on this mission were from different teams as Edgar had formed a team hastily and just randomly picked people.
Due to that, no one knew each other and it was hard to find out that Arthur was an ordinary trainer and not a grunt.
"With this, I'm ready to go."
Arthur muttered and started to move according to the map he had retrieved from Soros.
The map marked the base of Team Rocket and the areas they had already gone through. Arthur was currently in the green area that was close to the base.
Green colour means that they had already cleared all the wild Pokemon in the area and there was not much chance of danger from them.
Arthur walked freely because of that.
When he reached closer to a corner, he suddenly heard something. His steps halted and he focused on the sounds.
Two guards were chatting noisily.
"These caves made me feel scared. I want to feel the wind and the outbid air. I wonder when we will be able to get out of here."
"Probably when the mission is over, but yeah, it's really boring to just fend off those damn Zubats. I wish I could spend a hot night or two with one of the female grunts like Edgar."
"Hey, watch your mouth. If someone reported it to Lord Edgar, we are doomed."
"Yeah, but there's no one here."
Arthur listened to their conversation for a while and rejoiced at the carefree way the grunts were talking.
Their conversation entailed that they were really not taking their jobs seriously.
After listening for a while, he brought out Charmeleon from his pokeball.
He wasn't roaming with him cause the other grunts would be suspicious if they found out that a grunt had a rare Pokemon like Charmeleon.
"Charmeleon, use dig and slowly move through the ground. Come out and attack when I signal you."
"Charr."
Charmeleon nodded and started digging. Soon, he was under the ground and after composing himself, Arthur revealed himself to the two relaxed grunts.
The two grunts saw Arthur and tilted their heads.
"Who are you? It's our area to search. What are you doing here?" One of the grunts stepped forward and asked.
"I have some orders to give you two." Arthur said, trying to mimic a rougher tone.
"Who sent you here and what orders?"
"Lord Edgar sent me and he wants to meet you two. Someone reported about you two badmouthing Lord Edgar and he wants to personally meet you two."
"What?!"
The grunt was shocked hearing that and he immediately turned towards the second grunt and glared at him.
"Hey, I told you not to be a badmouth. See, now, we are in trouble!"
"But today was the first time I said something bad about Edgar..."
"Then, what is—"
Before the grunt could finish his words, he felt a sharp pain on his back. Arthur had stabbed a knife on his back and realising that, the grunt's eyes widened.
The second grunt's face got drained of colour, but as he was trying to pull something out of his pocket, he felt the ground in front of him shaking.
"Charr!"
From the ground, Charmeleon came out and used his sharp claws to slash at the second grunt's neck, finishing him off in an instant.
The first grunt was still alive, but Arthur took quick care of him. He stroked his neck and the grunt collapsed to the ground.
"Ah, this is more messy than I thought."
Arthur muttered as he saw the blood on his hands. He was careful enough to not splash it on his uniform, but blood was still disgusting to him.
Sighing, he ordered Charmeleon to dig a space to throw the bodies of the grunts.
