...

It had been more than six hours since they had started fighting against Zubats and they were currently almost at the end of the cave, but there was still no signs of a Golbat.

Arthur had wondered whether the information he had gathered was wrong, but there was no way to verify it.

But his gut feeling was telling him that he would soon find the Golbat on this path.

That's why he carried along and he soon came face to face with the biggest group of Zubats he had seen, with over almost 30 Zubats.

This group was also special as it seemed to be led by a Zubat who looked to be bigger than the others.

It was even more apparent when Arthur checked his status.

Not only did Zubat have a higher level than others, his aptitude was also touching the green zone almost.

Arthur was pretty sure that this Zubat was the key to finding the Golbat and currently, he was on the verge of winning the battle that had spanned for almost an hour.

"Murkrow, dodge the attack."

At Arthur's command, Murkow hovered into the air and moved between a barrage of poison stings. His movements were swift and elegant, making it look like he was barely able to dodge the attack.

Zubats who were unable to even touch Murkrow were frustrated.

They churned out attacks after attacks, but Murkrow was able to dodge all of them. The ones who he wasn't able to dodge were blocked by Charmander.

'Murkrow sure is quick.'

This was the advantage of a flying type Pokemon.

They were really quick and although they didn't have much to show in defense, they easily made up for it through their speed and attack stats.

Murkrow's special attack stat was especially high and Arthur knew how to take advantage of it.

He had been focusing on ways to increase his speed and it was working fairly well. Moreover, Murkrow had gotten more lethal after getting familiar with the attack patterns of Zubats.

He can now easily dodge Zubat's attacks even without Arthur commanding him.

"Battt!"

In the middle of the battle, the Zubat who Arthur had thought to be the leader suddenly screamed, like he was ordering his fellow companions.

Hearing the scream, Zubats stopped attacking and started to flee.

The Zubat who had screamed was one of the strongest Zubats around here and like Arthur had guessed, he was like the second in command after their boss, Golbat.

He had noticed that there was no way they could defeat Murkrow and Charmander. Their opponent was just too strong and seemed to know everything about them.

Not one of their attacks had worked till now.

So, the only thing they could do was to run away.

'You can't run away.'

Arthur also noticed Zubats trying to flee and he quickly acted. There was no way he was going to let them run away after an hour of battling.

He quickly ordered Charmander and Murkrow.

"Murkrow, use double team and surround them! Charmander, use dig."

Murkrow's body suddenly blurred for a second and multiple copies of him got created in the air. Double team was one of the strongest moves depending on how one uses it and it worked the best with speedy Pokemon like Greninja, Scyther and Murkrow.

Although Murkrow's double team was not on the level of Scyther and the copies he could create was almost as half as Scyther, it was still more than enough in the cave.

The cave wasn't that wide and the copies of Murkrow filled the cave easily.

Using his speed, Murkrow and his copies quickly surrounded the fleeing Zubats.

Those who escaped from the illusions came face to face with Charmander who had used dig to come in front of them.

"Battt!"

The poison bats tried to open a way through Murkrow and Charmander, but before they could do anything, Arthur commanded.

"Use punishment and flame burst."

Dark energy suddenly started gathering around Murkrow's wings and they glowed violet with an ominous aura. Murkrow didn't have much mastery of dark type moves, but it was still enough for the Zubats.

On the other hand, Charmander's control on fire was almost at its peak.

Boom!

Soon, there was a small explosion as Charmander and Murkrow carried out their attacks.

Small shockwaves formed in the air and Zubats fell everywhere on the ground. Arthur saw Murkrow's level rising and Charmander was on the verge of a level up and an evolution.

But it hadn't ended yet.

"There's a Zubat running away."

Arthur stared at the Zubat who was the leader of the group.

He had somehow escaped the attack from Murkrow and Charmander, and by taking advantage of the small explosion, he had managed to flee.

Sadly for him, Arthur noticed him and Charmander even tried to strike him down with flame burst, but Arthur quickly stopped him.

"Charmander, don't attack him. We need to follow him."

"Char?"

Charmander was confused, but he still did as Arthur said.

They followed the Zubat who was flying like his life was on the line. He led them through a narrow path that Arthur had missed earlier because it was hidden thanks to a bunch of Geodudes sleeping in front of him.

'This is probably the place where the Golbat is...'

Arthur thought as he jumped through the Geodudes. They followed the Zubat for five minutes before they came close to what looked like an entry point.

He went through it and suddenly noticed that he was in a huge cave.

The ceiling was really high and the cave was wide enough to battle without worrying about space.

There were Zubats hanging upside down on the ceiling and in the middle of it, a Golbat was silently sitting at a platform, eyes giving off a sharp glint.

'Here it is, the strongest bat on Mount moon.'
