Chapter 1 - Ancestor

"Hm? Where am I? I do not seem to remember anything. That is weird I remember I was… what? Where were I? That is quite odd. Am I dreaming?"

There was a little royal blue wisp floating in mid-air. It floated through a valley without control over its movements.

"I can feel that sometime is calling me… so strange..."

The valley lay in a thick grey mist surrounded by towering mountains and cliffs.

It was a rather dull area without colour or life.

It seemed like the last growing plant died years ago without new replacements.

The little wisp shot through the dead plane in lightning speed and zoomed to an unknown location without control over its trajectory.

Stones, withered bones as high as a mountain and other unmoving wisps were all what the blue wisp could see for what it thought to be eternity.

The little wisp had no concept of time and gradually accepted its conditions, it had no other choice anyway.

It would not be too abnormal if it would turn crazy but instead of that it grew used to it.

Sometimes there were some visions of slaughters that occurred on the dead plane before or two opponents that struggled too dead.

It just seemed to be too far in the past.

Sometimes the little wisp gained some crazy thoughts of the other dying wisps that hovered in the air, but nothing changed it too much.

"Wait! Something seems off! I am not as fast as before? Am I about to arrive at my destination?"

In the past he saw that all the other wisps that had no colour at all took some time but soon floated up to the sky.

It was right.

After it processed the strange occurrence, it entered an even more barren area.

It was shaped in a circle form and was completely solid.

No cracks, increases on the ground and no pits at all.

There was not a single speck of dust on the ground or so it seemed.

The little wisp had just a little area of perception but could undoubtedly see the middle of the circle.

It was shocked.

There was a little completely black youngster chained up with strange cuffs. The Chains seemed to be coming from the earth itself.

Behind the youngster stood an old, tattered geezer in rags.

"A living creature? Finally!

Hey!! Can You hear me?? He-"

"HAHA you finally arrived! I knew you could do it my esteemed ancestor!" shouted the geezer in delight.

"Hey, your old bag who is your ancestor?! I do not seem to remember to be your ancestor, hmpf!

I was floating through this world ever since."

The little wisp seemed to not remember that it lost its memories over the passage of time.

„Do not worry dear ancestor when you live again everything will be clear!" Said the old 'bag' and kneeled on one knee. „I have waited for countless years just to guide your arrival in the planar war. Finally, there is hope! The world will change HAHAHA."

„This maniac…"

The old man grabbed the head of youngster with one hand and pointed at the blue wisp with the other one.

Suddenly the whole solid platform lightened up and shone in a red glow.

Zzzzzttt

„Dear ancestor my mission comes to an end after countless years. It does not matter how many lives you lived but after your return you will remember everything eventually. Remember! Do not. Trust. Those. Humans!"

It lost its focus and shot into the head of the black humanoid youngster.

It struggled a bit unwillingly but lost conciseness after some time.

„Hey Lina! I made so many attempts to curt you, but you still don't give in. I already told my grandpa about you don't think your clan will reject our offer hmpf!" harrumphed a young rather handsome man in golden robes with long black hairs and pointy eyebrows.

„Gordon! I told you that I am not interested in you and definitely not your Bertus clan! My grandfather would never agree to your request. You even go as far as to call it an offer?!" A beautiful young lady in azure robes said. She was not too tall and not too small, had what one could call perfect curves and a kingdom toppling face.

„What can your grandfather even say? Do you think he can still call the shots? After this excursion I will persuade my family again, we will see what happens after." said the young Master of the Bertus clan and attempted to grab Linas wrist only to get dodged skilfully.

Lina had enough.

She took her belongings and quickly dashed off into the distance.

The young Master of the Bertus clan gave her compliments since they were young, what only earned the disdain from Lina.

Before, her Kyro Clan was the local tyrant but after years of war it withered away to a small noble house.

Gordon gritted his teeth and chased after her. Behind them were some experts moving in the shadows, with the mission to guard them.

Lina knew that her once mighty clan would not stand a chance anymore.

Nobody would make a sound if their former powerhouse made an appearance, but now?

She dashed through the forest in annoyance.

„Hmpf what is that rascal thinking? He should have a sufficient pressure medium to act this reckless today… I am worried for grandpa. I hope he is okay."

She ran a while deeply in thoughts into a random direction unknowingly nearing the forbidden area of the forest.

„LlNA! STOP! I know we had our differences, but you don't need to throw your life away. Please do not run there." cried Gordon out in horror.

She could not understand him anymore because she was too far way… all she heard was throw your life away.

But unknowingly before she could react… she stepped into a barren Land. Completely void of life.

There was hilarious gigantic platform without a speck of dust in front of her. It spanned about 3 kilometres in diameter.

The strange thing was… she could not see farther then 50 meters, anything behind that point was blurred.

„Lina! Look what you made me do… I even chased you inside the forbidden forest." sighed the young master.

„Huh? Where are the trees? So strange. I entered a blurred wall and now everything is gone.

Wait, forbidden forest?" asked Lina with piqued interest.

„Oh, you might not know it since you moved here to our backwater location. Since we are getting married anyway you can be considered my fiancé, so I might give you some insiders before."

„What wife? What Fiancé? Hmpf! But yes, give me the Information, quickly."

„…sigh… look. Do you see the strange runes around here? We are lucky to not entered that mark over there. This location appeared around 2301 years ago and everybody that entered that 50m mark never came back. In our books it is called the forbidden forest, but in reality, it is a prison where our ancestors threw their enemy's in."

„Prison?" wondered Lina. „Why did nobody record such a location down into the textbooks?"

„You might call it greedy, but we have never made it public and always guarded it tightly. Since we had no enemies around anymore the security got a little bit off guard since we could made it inside. Now hurry up and get back. I don't want father to know.

Suddenly…

Thick black clouds gathered in lightning speed, the earth started to tremble, and the sensation increased in seconds.

„What is going on? The ancestors never wrote down such an event! We need to report it quickly!" scoffed Gordon and pulled Lina away in a far quicker movement.

Lina could feel that gordon went easy on her before because his movements were far more skilful than before.

Before they could turn around the thick black clouds gained a blue hue…

„Not good! Lina, we need to run!" He pulled her closer and dragged her outside the blurred barrier.

„GUARDS!"

Suddenly 15 figures appeared out of nowhere.

Lina was shocked. How could this backwater clan had so many experts?

„Quickly inform my father that the prison is changing, 5 of you go inside and record down the situation!"

„Young Master you mustn't bring outsiders here. Wait, what?! Stevens, Kater! You two make haste to the manor and inform the clan elders." A rather young man in black robes shout out frightened.

He was the Captain of the squad.

„Yes, Captain Ruges!" Shouted the two in unison and zoomed away in an instant.

Ruges proceeded to point out 4 others to follow him and instructed the rest to guard the young master.

The situation grew hectic.

Normally those experts wouldn't get nervous easily, but the prison was something different, it appeared out of nowhere and swallowed hundreds of enemies in the passage of time.
