❀ ILARIA PRESTON ❀
SATURDAY
1:00 PM
"Have you packed everything you need? Your passport? Your ticket? Other things?" Peter asked her daughters she tried to zip up her suitcase.
"Yeah everything is packed and taken care of, just need to zip this up," Ilaria said as she sat on top of her suitcase. Her father laughed at this and walked up to her to help her.
"Here let me do it."
"Thanks, Dad," Ilaria said giving a kiss on his cheek.
"No problem Ria," He said looked at his daughter, and smiled seeing the excitement and happiness in her eyes. He was proud of her. What else a father could wish for.
"The flight is in two hours, Lori and Jane said they're leaving soon," Ilaria informed her father as he nodded at the information.
"come I'll make some tea for us, let's have a father-daughter moment before I drop you off," Peter said and took one suitcase as Ilaria hold the other bag and they made their way down to the kitchen.
Ilaria sat down on the kitchen counter as her father took out the kettle to make the tea. He added the ingredients. Soon the tea was ready.
He sat down on the table in front of her and placed two cups of tea on the table.
Ilaria smiled mischievously at her father and put her elbows on the table leaning forward as her father raised his eyebrow at his daughter's expression.
So, Mr. Preston, Anything interesting occurring these days?" Ilaria asked her dear father teasingly.
Peter gave his daughter a look, already knowing where this is going, and leaned forward with his elbows on the table just like her daughter's.
"Well, Miss. Preston, Not really. Just helping people with their oral hygiene and teeth. Got an appointment for a cavity filling in the evening." Peter answered smiling and took a sip of his tea as his daughter nodded her head slowly while scratching her chin pretending to think about something.
"So like, No woman or any nurse at the hospital trying to flirt with you or you flirting with anyone?" Ilaria asked her father wiggling her eyebrows at her father making him laugh.
"No Ria, I'm not going to date anyone," Peter said making Ilaria give him a cute pout much to her father's amusement.
"Oh come on, just one date, and if you can't find any woman you like I'll look for someone for you. trust me there are a lot of single mothers who want you." Ilaria declared making her father sigh as he gave a small smile.
"I'm sorry my love but l can't bring myself to date anyone after your mother. I feel like I'm cheating on her if I meet a woman that's not her. Your mother was one of a kind." Peter smiled longingly as gazed at nothing thinking about his late wife.
"I know dad and I'm sorry but it's just that I don't want you to be lonely. I want you to have someone when I'm not here, to take care of you." Ilaria tried to explain her father. Inturn her father nodded understanding her concerns.
"it's ok love. Don't worry I'm not lonely. And I'm happy with how my life is right now. My crazy daughter and my clients keep me entertained throughout the day." Peter teasingly replied removing the paint off that had stained the corner of Ilaria's forehead.
Ilaria touched her the place where the sky blue paint was with a scrunched face murmuring, "I didn't know it was there." making her father shake her head at her tactics.
They talk some more about some of Ilaria's students and finish their tea.
"I'm gonna wash my face and then we can leave for the airport," Ilaria mumbled as she quickly walked upstairs to her room.
'She's just like you, my Sylvia.' Peter thought as he watched her silly daughter stride to her room.

2:28 pm.
"Have a safe flight and call me when you check in the hotel," Peter said as he hand over the bags to Ilaria. Ilaria nodded and moved closer to hug her old man.
"I will. Take care of yourself and don't forget bout your meds." Ilaria instructed her dad as her father rolled his eyes at her daughter.
"of course ma'am. Now go." He said as they shared one more hug and Ilaria walked towards the entrance.
"HAVE FUN RIA!" Peter exclaimed and Ilaria twirled around and saluted him before continuing her way.
After a while Ilaria found her friends in the waiting area sitting together and looked like they were quietly fighting over a bag of mini kit kats.
Ilaria shook her head at them and made her way towards them.
"I Can't believe you don't like cheesecake kit kat! It is THE best." Jane cried out as Lori rolled her eyes at her friend.
"Oh, I like it. What I don't like is the fact that you are dipping your sweet kit kat in hot sauce. What is wrong with you?"
Lori questioned her weird friend who dips her kit kat in her hot sauce and eats with a happy face not caring about a thing while Lori looks at her with a disgusted face murmuring, " why just why. it's so wrong."
If you think this is wrong you should see what my brother eats in a day. He likes to dip his cookies in ranch." Jane lets out as it's the most common thing in the world.
Ilaria hears this as she gets close to the duo and both she and Lori cried out in sync.
"EWw!!"
Lori looks at the sound of her other friend and quickly smiled as she gets up to hug her.
"Thank God you are here. I was this close to throwing up and throwing her away." Ilaria laughs at her comment.
"Hey! I'm right here!" Jane lets out in protest.
"You were meant to hear that," Lori murmured causing Jane to throw a kit kat wrapper at her which falls slowly before even hitting Lori causing the trio to laugh.
Soon it was time to get on the plane. After the whole process they got on the plane and found their seats. Jane sat in the window seat and Lori beside her. while Ilaria sat behind them with some middle-adged woman.
"Dear attendants, prepare for take-off, please."
Ilaria asked around the plane after hearing the announcement and settled in her seat.
Soon the plane took off and the journey to the beautiful destination began.
The destination that was about to turn Ilaria's whole world around.
