I look towards her with a vague expression. "What… You did?"
Calina grabs a glowing red fruit from a nearby crate. "Your new… Abilities; healing, strength, and speed. It's all from that procedure I had to them do to you… Do you resent me for it? I know it was painful."
My left-hand clenches as I look towards the floor of the wagon.
"It's true it was painful… But… I don't think you had any ill intentions!"
Calina's eyes widen as she looks to the side and covers her mouth. Then, I hear a snicker as her body starts to quiver.
"…Eh?"
She gives a dismissive wave while uncovering her mouth. "I-I'm sorry… That just wasn't the reply I was expecting."
"To tell you the truth… I don't really remember anything after when you left. It's all quite vague."
