"I don't know why there is that pool of blood," I said shocked.
Josh looked at me with a fearful and disgusted look.
"If you say so," Josh said while picking up four boxes of wood.
Josh walked upstairs to the main floor.
"Why is there blood!?!? What happened? Does Eir know what happened? Never mind, I just need to get myself together and help." I thought.
I walked upstairs with four boxes. There were two boxes left downstairs. Josh went downstairs to pick up the remaining boxes. I started in the study. I was boarding up the windows.
Time felt like it was flying by fat because when I had regained consciousness from boarding up the windows in the study, broom closet, and kitchen, it was already sundown. I turned around and Josh was walking in the kitchen. Josh and Eir were quiet. Even though there really isn't anything to talk about. I looked over at Josh and he had his arms folded while laying his head down. I was still hearing Eir upstairs but me and Josh had completed the downstairs.
"At least we are safe for now. But I need to find a way to remember what happened before all this happened. Why was there a pool of blood in the basement? I feel like I'm forgetting something... I guess I'll figure it out later. Soon we might need to move from this house." I thought.
I heard Eir start walking down the stairs. She looked grim and upset.
"What's wrong?" I asked concerned.
"Can you just come upstairs with me?" she asked.
"Of course," I said smiling a little.
Me and Eir started walking up the stairs. She had stuff set on the porch. We walked to the porch. The porch creaked a little when I stepped on it. I walked to the edge of the porch. Eir had her head down like she was grieving. I looked off the porch and saw a bunch of dead bodies on the pavement on the ground. There were puddles of blood. It looked as if there was a major fight or war. I felt a little sick while looking. I looked back at Eir. I walked up to her and hugged her. I could tell that she wanted to cry but couldn't.
"It's okay, let's just stay together. How about we sit down?" I lifted my head and she looked at me.
"Okay."
We both sat down and had started to drift off. None of us were worried about food because we had plenty but since everything went to shit I'm pretty sure no one in this house wants to eat.
I looked next to me at Eir. She was asleep on my right side. She looked peaceful sleeping. It was dark. Josh and Eir were now asleep. I started to drift off too.
"A little rest wouldn't hurt, then I could look out for everyone too..." I thought. My eyelids started to get heavy, and soon I had drifted off.
-48 hours before-
*stab stab stab*
*heavy breathing*
Everything around me looked blurry. I was standing in a pool of blood. I was in one of the hidden rooms. Everything around me was going black. I felt that I was going to pass out.
*cling*
I dropped the knife.
I fell to the floor.
-Present-
I jumped awake. Josh was now at the table. I sat up and looked around. The night was always my favorite time. I loved to look at the stars and just think about nothing and zone out. The stars always looked so pretty. The moon too. I remember that every time around sundown since I liked to watch the sundown and would sit on the rooftop at night, my roommates would get upset and would think that I'm going to fall even though I would assure them that I'm not going to. I would always bring a blanket and sit and watch the sky. It always looked so peaceful. It still does now but I know that I need to keep watch.
I look over at Eir. I smiled. I started to walk downstairs to the kitchen to collect foods that we can take with us. I had found crackers, chips, some canned foods, water, and candy. Before all of this happened I was supposed to go grocery shopping. I put all of the food into a weaved basket. I set the basket down on the marble counter on my right. I started to walk to the basement. It felt like something was compelling and begging me to go down there. I suddenly remembered the dream I had.
"Ugh, I guess I'll go see if the dream is real or not."
I started to walk down the wooden steps. The basement at night would always seem like a basement you would see in a horror movie. I walked over to where the pile of blood was. It was coming from a scratch on the wall. I pushed the wall and it collapsed.
*Crash*
The hole in the wall big enough for me to walk through.
When I looked down to see what was causing all the blood, I saw a light grey cat with white spots.
"Ace?" I said with fear.
"Did I kill Ace? But I didn't see anything. There should be a knife around here somewhere. I looked and Ace was laying above the knife. I picked it up. It was covered in dark red blood. The blood looked thick and was dripping down slowly.
*Tap tap tap*
I dropped the knife and passed out in the pool of blood.
-72 hours before-
"Alright Ace, I set your food down. You can eat. The can said it should be deadly delicious on the can." I said standing up.
"Huh." My body started to go numb. I fell.
*stab stab stab*
I saw a light grey hair on my hand.
"Huh? What happened?"
I looked down and started to tear up.
"Ace?"
"I killed Ace!?!?"I thought.
I looked down at his limp body. His eyes were closed. I squatted down to pet him one last time. I started to tear up. A tear had fallen under his eye. His body felt really cold to the touch.
"Ace... I'm so sorry. I don't even know what happened." I said in a shaky voice. Tears were streaming down my face. They felt hot running down my cheeks. I left Ace in the hole where I fell. I started to put the wall back together again. The blood was only on the inside of the wall where Ace was.
"I guess I better start getting cleaned up," I said gloomily.
-Present-
I woke up and was covered in blood. I looked over at Ace's body.
"Why would I kill Ace? What the hell is wrong with me?"
"Everything." A dark deep voice had said from behind me. When I turned I saw a shadow figure that looked like me. I jumped and had gotten more blood on me.
To be continued.
