Chapter 4 - The admission hall of the military academy

"Flame kicks and flame punches? What is it trying to say? I should just bring some flames in my fist or should I accelerate my punches with the flames. Now that's vague" Drakoni thought ignoring the fact that his body has taken a whole new form. His shoulder muscle has developed to a whole new level as well as his arm and leg muscles. He now has a very sturdy build but he isn't too muscular to become something like a bodybuilder. He still has the same slim but fast attack physique which would still allow him to move with remarkable speeds even without his juggernaut dragon's powers.

"Oh there is another section below the quests."

Drakoni looked at that section that read as skills, passives and affinities

"Maybe I can see my skills right here" opens the section

"First up is passive. Let's see my passive is... The power of hatred?"

{The power of hatred: regenerates mana when the user is feeling extreme frustration, hatred or anger. Can generate more mana than the upper limit of the user but needs to be used immediately in order to be extracted.}

"So maybe that's why I couldn't use those destruction balls when I wanted to. Let's see my other passive"

{An emperor's pride: causes the user's emotional outbursts to be amplified, often leading to extreme levels of anger}

"That's maybe why I got so angry for no reason. I should be careful about using it but if somehow I can control my temper, then I will be op!" Drakoni gave a very sus grin as he toyed with this idea.

But Drakoni still felt a bit sluggish." I will think about all of these in the morning. Time for some sleep"

Drakoni bumped his back in the mildly hard bed and spread his arms widely as he closed his eyes.

The next day Drakoni woke up pretty late in 9.30am. He directly jumped from his bed and went to the hospital counter. The hospital was run by the government and as such it had all the fancy equipment that a hospital can have, but still only had 30 beds. This was because most patients only needed minor healing spells before they were all fine although in the most severe cases the patients needed high level potions which costs a fortune.

Drakoni came at the shiny brown counter where there was a staff that immediately recognized Drakoni. "Are you the patient Cranel Drakoni?"said the staff somewhat surprised.

"Yes I am"

"So you woke up!" Said the staff in surprise. "You have been asleep for two whole days, the longest anyone has ever slept in this hospital!" The staff was shouting with a loud voice.

"Wait I slept for TWO DAYS! But I felt like I slept for 8 hours"

"A girl named Amy came daily to visit you when you were unconscious. She always came in the mornings and afternoons". Said the staff while giving an assuring smile.

"If she comes today, tell her that I am going to the military academy" Drakoni said with his face looking tense.

"Ok I will be sure to inform her" said the staff. "Oh, don't forget to collect your release certificate before leaving"

Apparently every hospital that has a patient that gets admitted to the hospital for more than 8 hours needs to get a doctor checkup before they can leave.

"Ok I will be going to the doctors chamber"

Drakoni ran swiftly along the wooden floor of the hospital speeding to the chamber as he went.

"Excuse me" Drakoni said with long breaths. "I am here to get my release certificate".

As soon as Drakoni saw the chamber, he immediately hated it. It had plain windows with uninspiring plain light brown wood covering the whole chamber. It had a bed along with a medium sized drawer of apparatus and tools in the left corner of the walls. In the top of the drawer, there was a rectangular light stand with mini light element inscriptions on it and several tiny pieces of mana crystals within the glass container below it.

"Ahh you are that boy who slept for two days." Said the old bald doctor while taking a closer look at Drakoni.

"Sit down right here" said the doctor while pointing at the bed beside his wooden chair and table.

Drakoni sat down and looked at the bookshelf along with a another shelf filled with herbs, crystals and jars of pills, ointment and syrup.

"Take off your jacket and show me your chest."

Drakoni took his jacket and clothes off and doing this he revealed his new muscles.

"Am I day dreaming or did your body become tougher overnight" said the doctor while placing his stethoscope in Drakoni's chest and reading Drakoni's heart beats and mana concentration near his heart.

"I think you are doctor." Said Drakoni nervously as he tried to conceal his secret.

"I think I should take a break from research. I am starting to hallucinate from mental tiredness" Said the doctor as he wrote down wierd stuff in his certificate.

"Do you feel any discomfort while sleeping?"

"No I don't feel any discomfort while sleeping" said Drakoni

"Do you have any problems with your taste?"

"I don't know I haven't eaten anything in this morning. I was just consuming mana convertible food" I said as I clearly didn't eat anything in these two days. Mana convertible foods are basically foods that can be converted into a nutritious liquid upon coming contact with mana. They usually produce sharp stomach cramps which is why they people eat normal food rather than mana convertible food. But mana convertible foods are extremely important for patients who can't eat with their mouth or for long term food storage as it doesn't rot even after 7 months.

"Then let me give you some sugar." said the doctor while walking towards his shelves. He opened it's wooden door with crystal clear glass reflecting the sunlight that fell on it. He took out a jar containing sugar and came back to his chair.

"Show me your palms" the doctor said as he unscrewed the wooden lid of the har with the sound of the wood being rubbed against the glass.

Drakoni opened his palms and immediately the doctor poured a little bit of sugar in his palm.

Drakoni didn't wait another moment but immediately ingested the sugar from his hand. He could taste the raw sweetness of the sugar.

"Yes doctor I can taste the sugar." Said Drakoni while chewing the sugar.

"Then you are all set. You can leave the hospital" said the doctor while signing the prescription in which he wrote details about Drakoni's health.

"Thank you doctor." Saud Drakoni while taking the prescription. He then wore his clothes and black jacket with orange lining and ran straight out of the chamber.

"Kids these days. Just running and running" said the doctor while opening his research journal.

Drakoni sweeped through the hospital and came right at Colonel Ratcliff Street. The streets were brimming with people and wagons pulled by earth lizards. They were like dinosaurs with brown earth like skin and four pillar like legs. They seemed heavy but they can run amazingly fast if they are threatened.

Drakoni ran straight through the waves upon waves of people. He was worried that he might be late for the admission test that is going to take place today.

"I should be able to answer all the questions in the written test since I have read countless books about military tactics and previous battles."

From his childhood Drakoni would read books about battle styles, military strategies and previous battles just out of curiosity. Because he never had any friends except Amy, he would bury himself inside the books gaining tremendous knowledge about how the military functioned.

He took a sharp turn in the avenue and got right into the main stone paved road. He kept on speeding and speeding until he finally reached the military academy. He went through the huge front door of the military academy and went straight to the main office that was . There was a line of teenagers who were waiting eagerly for their admission form. Since Drakoni went to the national magic academy previously and chose the army as his future profession, his information was automatically sent to the military academy as a possible entrant. While other people had to wait to register their information, Drakoni just had to confirm his admission and get his admission card.

After waiting for some time, Drakoni finally came in the reception. Drakoni became desperate for the admission card as there were only 11 minutes left for the written exam.

"I am Cranel Drakoni from the national magic academy. My student number is 366709" Drakoni said hurriedly.

"So you are Cranel Drakoni from the magic academy. Let me check if I can find any admission card with your name on it."

Suddenly Amy came running behind Drakoni.

"DRAKONI! WHY DID YOU GO TO THE ACADEMY WITHOUT TELLING ME!" Shouted Amy at Drakoni.

Drakoni was genuinely surprised after seeing Amy running towards him.

"Amy? Why did you come to the military academy. Shouldn't you be going to the medical school for your exams?"

"Idiot. I was always planning to join the military academy as a military healer. My whole family is at the military. My uncle is a Colonel in the military and my elder brother is a major."

"Here is your admission card Cranel Drakoni"

The military staff gave Drakoni his admission card after looking for a while

in the box of pre made admission cards.

"Ahh miss moriarty you are here. Get your admission card. We had it prepared before hand." The staff said while pulling out Amy's admission card from the wooden box while was almost empty.

Amy came forward quickly. "Thank you very much" said Amy while taking the admission card.

"Let's hurry up. The exam is gonna start soon" Drakoni.

"Yes let's hurry up" said Amy.

Then both of them raced towards the examination hall in which there was a writing test. They went around the road that was surrounding the large battle ground of the military academy. And just at the exact opposite end of the main office that was just behind the huge battle ground. The people who just got their admission card were running towards the exam hall.

Fortunately Amy and Drakoni arrived just 3 mins before the closing time of the examination hall. Drakoni closed his eyes and took in a deep breath as he prepared to take the exam without any preparation.
