Daniel was carried all the way to the middle of Chicago. On the way there, his dad, or what was left of him, was explaining what happened. The aliens came from 51Pagasib, and they had been planning the invasion for years. He explained that their planet didn't have water and therefore their bodies hadn't been able to adapt to that substance. The worst part of it all was what the aliens could do with the humans once they were captured. All aliens had the ability to capture the memories of humans. They could look into the minds of anyone and find out anything.
In addition to reading their minds, they could also control these humans and make them do whatever they want, and these mind slaves were immune to water. Something horrible occurred to Daniel. If they turned him and looked into his memories, they would find the rest of the humans. With their human army, the aliens could send troops underwater and eliminate the rest of humanity. Daniel would not let that happen.
His dad/captor explained the only downfall to the aliens plan. Extreme mental disorders caused a barrier that the aliens could not breach. As a result, the aliens had to kill off 13% of the world. Daniel began to worry about Suzy. If they captured her, they couldn't use her in their army. Would they kill her? Is she already dead? That thought was still on his mind when they reached the alien base.
