In the ghost-silence, her small sighs were the loudest. She laid her head back as she sat closing her eyes, the locked door she forgets about slowly opened with a loud creak and the memories come back like a flood. Her finger slowly started patting against the couch, it was a failed attempt to calm herself down.
...
It was a long summer day, hot? damn of course.
[ GROUP CHAT: SUPREME COURT]
Pogo: You guys are coming, right?
Pogoboi: Yes, babe. I am almost there.
Hoe: I am not coming.
A-hole: WTF!?! Don't mess around at the last moment.
Pogo: Exactly. I will really not talk to you. If you back out now.
Pogoboi: Chill. He is with me. We are almost there.
Hoe: Lol.
Pogo: ...
A-hole: ...
Hoe: Anyway, What about Arinya?
Pogo: Ugh, she isn't checking her DMs as well. I'll go call her. Bye.
A-hole: I'll go get ready.
Hoe: Okay. Text us when you guys here.
"Mom, at least listen to me," Arinya said as she tries to stop her mom.
"YOU GO TO YOUR ROOM RIGHT NOW"
Tears started burning her eyes and her lower lip trembled as she tried to speak up "Mom please listen to me"
But before those tears could burn her eyes a sudden slap stung her cheeks. She could feel her cheek burning everything else become blurred that she couldn't even understand what her mother was yelling at her at that moment.
But it sure was something like "GO TO YOUR ROOM"
She dragged her feet back to her room, closing the door behind her. She sat down on the floor as she started recollecting the reality again. As the reality started tingling its way to her head and the pain of the slap got a little lighter. She could hear her mother shouting at someone in her room, she could clearly hear her swearing loudly like some crazy madwoman but the fact was that there was no one at home besides her and her mother.
She hears her phone ringing.
It wasn't ringing somewhere far just in front of her on the bed. She could see the screen lit up again and again. She didn't know if anyone knew how much it is hard sometimes to just get up and walk few steps but for her, it seemed impossible to get up and just walk to her bed but she did.
Looking at her phone screen, she sighed. Fixing her voice she picked it up.
"OMG! IF YOU WOULDN'T HAVE PICKED UP THIS TIME I WOULD HAVE PICKED YOU UP FROM YOUR HOUSE"
Arinya frowned as she asked trying her best to not act weird "Why? What happened?"
"OH GOD! don't tell me you forget about our meeting today"
Arinya sighed she actually really forget about it.
"You did right? I knew it." Olivia was angry but as she didn't want to ruin her mood she added "It's okay just get ready. I'll pick you up from your house"
"Okay. Just give me a call when you are at the convenience store near my house. I'll see you there"
Before Olivia could say anything to that Arinya ended the call. She always does this, she could just easily pick her from her house but never mind.
